Yeah, some of the things he did were clear sources of emphasis in the offseason - finishing at the rim, not picking up the dribble, changing the risk profile on d. All of those looked like they had improved, some of them markedly. Everyone's role is gonna be different when KD is on the floor, and hel'll have a lot more set-shot 3s that will boost the 3P%. If not for Jabari's improvement I think we'd be talking about Reed's a little more.
Davison looked better last night. The team also seems like they like him more. Had more of a “dawg” in him than Reed. Plays tough.
I agree, but I think Reed is going to have a good role as a marksman. He doesn’t really need to run point full time with Alpi on the floor. Just get to the spot and wait for his defender to help. Him and JD can play together. Holiday might lose some minutes tho.
He will be fine defensively. He is very good defensively in certain match ups and at certain things, and not good in other match ups. He has very good hands, he anticipates well - he can do well on that side of the ball. I am more concerned about him consistently hitting shots at this point.
I suspect he will feel a lot more comfortable having someone that can hit shots and can get him shots (KD) on the floor with him. He is more sensitive than most players to who is on the floor with him.
What is saw last night was enough to say we could definitely get in to play-in with the KD less if we could tighten up defense which is not much downgrade from last year. I just have to see how this team would look like when KD is on the floor. Our floor was awfully crowded due to only Sengun and Amen handling the ball most of time which made Hawks crowded the paint. Reed was better fit as corner or switch handoff since even he is not touching the ball he was taking one defender away from the lane.
Is this a more nihilistic DD speaking? Or a more mindfully present and grateful for the unfolding process of creation DD? Just curious. Namaste!
Right now, I find it curious that Ime hasn't named a 5th starter! If the decision was clear, he would have already said who that would be. I think there are several factors; 1) He doesnt think Reed is ready or the right fit with this unit. He could be better served coming off the bench (I THINK REED PLAYS BETTER WHEN HE HAS MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO SHOOT) 2) Waiting to get DFS healthy and see how he plays with the starters 3) His familiarity with JD, along with JD's play in camp is causing him to reconsider.
I want to see Reed unleash his inner beast. He needs to be in attack mode. I want to see him running the offense and creating for himself and others. I think he is more than capable. Stop being so unselfish and just take over the game. He has it in him.
He is negotiating his extension, so he may be doing more to show the FO what he thinks he is worth. Hope he gets a fair/good deal. Good luck, Tari.
He does, but as a 2nd year guy on a roster that just got a high-usage future HOF player he’s going to have to pick his spots. The good news is he’s got incredible basketball IQ and knows where those spots are. Former Kentucky guys tend to blossom in year 2.
The Rockets were one of the worst passing teams in the NBA last year. And this year without fvv its gonna be worse. I would expect much more of this going forward
