How are you judging anything off this game? There is a guy that we traded for this offseason that might help our offense who didn’t play,,, Hopefully Udoka is smart enough to stagger Sengun and KDs minutes so we don’t have those long droughts.

We didn't see Scola here until he was 27. Crazy that this is Alpi's 5th year in the league and he is FOUR years away from being the same age as rookie Scola.

No need to worry, those pimples will be gone by the time he reaches his prime.

I dont recall saying after one preseason game with half the lineup saying this is how the team will perform for the rest of the year. What's wrong with watching a game and reflecting on what you see? Isn't that LITERALLY what this site is for? Who made you the Clutchfans police?

I'm beginning to think Alpi might just be even better as a PF that happens to play center, more Kevin Garnett than Tim Duncan seeing how he plays with a 5 next to him. Perhaps Sil@ss was right and we needed a lob threat, just for Alpi and not JG and his son KPJ.

On offense he’ll be a unicorn like jokic. Won’t fit into anything we have seen before. After seeing the improvement in ball handling and 3 pt, it is impossible to predict what he will eventually be.

"LOTS of mistakes by the other guys"

"hope Houston can give him some rest so he is fresh later in the season"

you said Alpis reammates will be pretty bad the pretty much most of the season so Alpi will be exhausted...

You just interpreted that - I didn't actually say any of that. I said:
    - I saw lots of mistakes by the other guys and
    - hope Houston can give him some rest so he is fresh later in the season

How do you get "Alpis reammates will be pretty bad the pretty much most of the season so Alpi will be exhausted" from that?

Not that you asked but the reason why I was saying I hope he gets some rest is because he played professionally over the summer for his home country which is part of why he showed up so crisp while others looked a little clunky. I also saw lots of mistakes from the other guys IN THAT GAME. If you thought that statement was meant to apply to all Alpi's teammates all season, then that's quite a stretch and I don't think a very reasonable assumption and certainly not implied.

YOU read all this context into my statement that I never implied because I actually believe something quite different....but instead of asking you preferred to try to play some "gotcha" game. How did that work out for you?

@AroundTheWorld is being proven correct with his original "franchise player" thread.

He’s definitely gone up a step or two. And he’s only 23. His prime years are still 5 years away. Going to be glorious.

Yeah i do think some of the Amen declarations are a bit too premature, Alpi looks like the man right now. Dare i say it, he even looks like the man over KD.

19A with only 2TO. That's the biggest improvement so far. Even CP3 would be jealous.

People hated even the possibility of Alpi being a good player. It was crazy what the KPJ/JG stans were saying. It was like being in Peacemaker's alternate dimension. I literally thought people were blind. We're not even talking rookie year Alpi, we're talking just last year as he was exploding and becoming an all-star and 16th in the all-nba voting. I lost so much respect for people and their evaluation skills. It's crazy so many didn't see it coming.

    Like, literally Scola.

I remember the chants of Amen being the best player on Rockets at the end of last season, which was rather funny to me - almost at the level of JG delusion. I respect the take on Amen potentially having higher ceiling. But Alpi by far had the best floor last season.

Not hopping on board on him being the man over KD though. Gotta see a steady diet of efficient points production first. You're not a superstar, if your avg. is <20 with offense being your niche.
