@MadMax I'd never heard of these lunatics...I love it https://www.texasmonthly.com/being-texan/baylor-university-secret-society-noze/
I've heard about the noze club. Also went to Auburn/Baylor game - it was WAY TOO HOT there. Turn on a ****ing fan or something, what the hell? Cheap asses. Also, reporting noze club for antisemitism, good luck
Holy crap, so funny. I suspected a few guys I knew of being in it, but man they were so secretive about it you'd never know. I loved the Noze Bros lol. Wasn't able to read the full article because it's behind a paywall, but those guys made my days at Baylor even more fun. I told you yesterday I grew up in the Episcopal Church. The Episcopal student organization at Baylor had a tshirt my freshman year that said something like, "Jesus came to save you from your sins, not your brain." I had a guy who showed up to lead a Bible study on my floor when I first moved in to the dorm freshman year (and remember I think of myself as a complete Jesus Freak, though perhaps in a different way than the Southern Baptist Convention might define it) and told me that as an Episcopalian I was a "kissing cousin to the Catholics" like it was some kind of burn. He said this out loud amongst a group of guys I had never met before, so that's the context... So I let him know I kissed my Catholic girlfriend in high school quite a bit, and I didn't see the problem with that...and that I think he's gonna be shocked by just how much Jesus loves him and everyone else There's craziness everywhere I suppose...it just has a special brand at Baylor. Loaded with religion and blame game and feeling good cause you have the right title as a "Christian" no matter what that actually means lol. I feel very disconnected from it now. I don't go back at all to watch games. I keep up with my closest friends from there otherwise. Though I did LOVE the hoops national championship in 2021. I leaned into the basketball program pretty hard when I got there as a freshman...fortunately all the Dave Bliss bullshit happened well after I was gone. I feel a very strong connection to UH now...I'm here...I went to law school here...and my kids both fell in love with it. I rooted for Baylor in the Final Four against UH that year because of that particular squad that all came back with a chip on their shoulder....but I find myself rooting for UH over Baylor all the time now. I suppose that would be super strange to some of my friends. The UH hoops program is so far and away my favorite college sports program ever, it's not even close. (My son went to a coaches' clinic there on Saturday with Kelvin and his son presenting AFTER they got to sit in on a practice with the whole squad...incredible! He took like 20 pages of notes lol) I will say I did meet a bunch of people at Baylor who are among the most impressive and kind people I've ever met anywhere in my life. People I'm pretty certain you would really like. Also, (in Borat voice) MY WIIFFEEE who remains undefeated.
