They complement each other well. Reed is as good at the C&S as he is a table setter. Amen is as good a cutter as he is attacking a back pedaling defense. I used to pray for times like this....when I had to watch the Terrible Twins go 3/26 from 3 over and over and over again.
He should be in there tonight. Nothing to lose. See what it looks like in real time with additions and general improvement all around. Reed Amen KD Bari Al P It's preseason. Run the offense through Sengun with 3 shooters out there along with Amen doing Amen things? Again it's preseason. I know I want to see it.
I have been thinking of changing my vote from "no" to starting for Reed to "yes." However, it would such a depressing way to start the season if after 4 preseason games clearly it looks like Reed doesn't have it now or at best looks like a year away from being a year away. It would be incredible if Reeds looks as good as some think he is or will soon be. Part of me remembers what happened to the Jeremy Lin competing with the unknown iirc un-drafted Russian League vet Patrick Beverly when thinking of Reed vs JD Davidson.
To be honest, I don’t need Reed to be Stockton out there…I need him to shoot better than Brick Vleet…not counting the playoffs, he bricked all season long, I hated him on the floor at times… For me, tonight was encouraging from what I saw from Reed…we need consistent shooting!!!!
Preseason doesn't really mean anything, but Reed getting outplayed by both Aaron Holiday and JD Davidson is depressing. Hopefully he bounces back next game.
He looked better on the ball and more confident. Got to the hoop with some good picks. He needs to be automatic from 3 to be a plus starter for this team. His defense was more controlled, but hard to tell with all the zone they were playing. It was obvious to me that Ime wants him to play off ball most of the time, but he could get some more initiation opportunities if Amen continues to struggle with his confidence (I don’t expect that to last).
What do you mean what? Rox are at the apron threshold and Reed is making 10M. He is the former no 3 pick on his 2nd year you dont think he should be better than career vet min Aaron Holiday and 2 way JD? lol
That’s not what you said. JD had a good game but still looks like he could be a good backup point guard. Anyone with one eye could see that Holiday was the worse player on the court. For you to say he outplayed Reed is just your biased hate as usual.
Holiday scored higher, had more ast and rebs than Reed. He also got more mins from Udoka. Holiday +5, Reed -3. Before you say I'm biased why dont base it on the production both players made instead of just insulting me? Why dont you explain why you have so much favor towards a dude who shot below 0.500 TS% last year? Averaged 4 pts on bad efficiency but I'm a hater for pointing it out? I love the Rox but when a player is playing bad I let everyone know and when a player is playing great I let everyone know as well. If Reed blows up for 30 pts next game I'll be the first to praise him, but calling me a hater for saying he played bad when he did is just a joke.
Guys, face it. We got screwed in a bad draft. Reed Sheppard is not going to look better anytime soon.
Reed has a lot of tools in his tool box but at some point he actually has to show more than flashes. He is in an ideal situation- he just needs to shoot 40% on 3’s and he will get 25 minutes a night… get out in transition and he gets 30 minutes a night.
