Postseason baseball can get weird. He was going to have to use Montero at some point, so I assume he thought he could sneak an inning out of him in the middle of a game. And he did. And it worked, despite him giving up a run

 

Exactly - the Tigers were so terrible down the stretch. You truly never know what’s going to happen in the playoffs. It’s not basketball or football.

I do think the Dodgers have a very high chance of repeating. Snell, Yamamoto and Ohtani is a nasty trio of starters to go with their lineup.

 

It worked? He didn’t even get an out and now his pen is even more worked since they went into extras lmao and it’s a miracle they didn’t blow the lead there

Yeah, it makes you wonder. He had an ERA below 3 for the Tigers in 22 innings but his FIP was 4.50 so it’s not like they fixed something. He had a K/9 of 7.8 and BB/9 of 5.7 in those innings lol not sure what them and Hinch were thinking
