He was barely given a chance lets be honest. Most coaches play players by their draft position. Its hard to break out of it. You would literally have to start looking like a two way star right away for them to even give you a chance. If something happens to KD, which is likely. We will need his scoring.

Don't blame the coach. Cam admitted that he didn't put in enough effort on defense. That's on him.

If I were in the coach's doghouse, I'd play hard every minute I got on the court to gain back the trust.

He didnt say he wasnt trying. You need to learn and grow. But you need to be given a chance.

We have all hooped or seen players like cam. they will do everything right for a game, a possession, and want that ONE possession or game to be the evidence they should play indefinitely. They will pout thinking the world is against them because they weren't given (enough) credit for that one moment in time. dude is still so young there was so much time.

I blame the organization for giving away a talent as good as him for nothing.

There was no need - he would have been playing this year for sure.....might even be starting with DFS out.

But he is gone now, and we are still damned good, I just hate giving away talent for nothing.

The problem with this analogy is that its part of the growing process and he should be mad, HE WASNT REALLY GIVEN A CHANCE. Look at Jalen Green he played worse than Cam ever has as a rookie especially defensively he tried but still sucked at it. But he still constantly started and was given a chance. He was a flat out Diva yelling at people for the ball at times. He grew out of it over time but still is widely inefficient after being given every chance. The chance we never gave Cam. WE GAVE KPJ WAY MORE OF A CHANCE THAN WE EVER GAVE CAM. Youre trying to tell me Cam is more of a headcase than KPJ? BULLSHIT

I would’ve rather kept him than only get 2 second round picks, but we don’t know what was going on behind the scenes. Conjecture about working with agents for future consideration may have some merit. We also don’t know if Cam’s relationship with Ime was toxic or not. His public persona and him admitting that he didn’t do what he was told is a sign of serious immaturity, which doesn’t always go away. Some people on this board still act like they are 15. Since he is the East I hope he does well against everybody but us. Unlike Jalen, who I hope sucks as long as he is in the West. It’s nothing personal about either one.

Yeah i still think they should've got more for him. I get the whole trying to do right by him and i knwo he's not bringing us another KD but we could've maximised his exit more than we did the way we did Jalen and Dillon.

Jalen never called for the ball we know this. Jalen was never a selfish player. in fact, we wanted him to be more selfish. And this is just basic NBA politics. Jalen got all the chances because we were basement dwellers. when rockets got ime, everything changed (jalen was benched for many games).

Jalen and Sengun were the faces of the team, the faces of the rebuild. all Cam had to do was wait for his chance (that probably would have come this year). All cam had to do was do what he was asked - and he didnt do it. he admitted he didnt do what he was asked

KPJ was the era of bottom dwelling, Rockets were trying to find anyone to break out. Yall letting your love for Cam cloud basic rockets history. I would say Cam is on par with KPJ as a headcase. dude was in the press talking like he was James Harden after a couple good games. Ime and senior management were being asked questions about end of the bench cam. Way to destroy all the gains from one good game.

JALEN WAS VERY SELFISH BARELY PASSED AND WAS WIDELY INEFFICIENT. You saying the guy who averaged the most fgs with a low assist rating wasnt selfish, delusional. Im not sure what Jalen Green you saw but you were not paying attention. Both he and KPJ were selfish players and yelled at people when THEY missed their assignments. Jalen Green had up to this point been just as bad if not worse of a defender than Cam. It didnt matter though he still started no matter how he played. Also youre cherry picking Jalen AFTER two years. I already said he grew out of part of it but before that he was yelling at people for his missed assignments and yelling for the ball and then at times hiding in the damn corner. he has been awful and still been given every chance. Lets not try to rewrite history here. Where somehow in your memory Cam was this awful guy annd Jalen and KPJ were angels lol Cam has done nothing to not be given half the chance they were. It was a stupid stupid trade.

It has nothing to do with them knowing us or even us arguing. We are here talking basketball as always. And im being honest im angry over that stupid trade and have people respond to me acting like he somehow deserved less playing time and Jalen and KPJ did when they earned nothing and was given everything. It puzzles me.

It is ridiculous, does he have questionable attitude, check, but to play this like one stop defines his career lmao.

There are tons of teams in the NBA.......the Rockets are not like many clubs, I would even say they do things their way, very subtle.

I don't think there were if any at all, which is a by product of the team not doing it's job to maximize the asset's potential.

My overall point is that we didn't need to make a decision on him this year - with injuries and other things that happen and him being 21 years old....why do anything, let him play and see if he matures.

What was the hurry? Hell we have what? Two rosters spots open right now?

If he was Rookie Chandler Parsons that plays defense, makes Team Plays, he would've been on the floor consistently in every game.

If I'm not mistaken, getting his salary off the books was a factor in terms of completing all the other offseason 2025 deals (Durant trade, Dorian Finney Smith, Capela)

JG took the most shots on the team while being 4th in assists
