    'Symbol of freedom': Trump presidential library approved to rise in Miami

    MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (CBS12) — Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Cabinet unanimously approved the establishment of the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library in Miami-Dade County on Tuesday morning.
    Governor DeSantis expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Having the Trump Presidential Library in Miami will be good for Florida, for the city, and for Miami Dade College. No state has supported the President’s agenda more than the Free State of Florida.”

    The approval came during a meeting of the state’s Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund, which is responsible for managing state lands.

    The library will be located on a 2.63-acre parcel adjacent to the historic Freedom Tower, according to officials.

    Florida officials said that the parcel, which is currently used as an employee parking lot for Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus, will pave the way for further economic development in South Florida.

    Attorney General James Uthmeier remarked, “It was an honor to vote in favor of making Florida the future home of President Trump's Presidential Library. I look forward to the patriotic stories the Trump Library Foundation will showcase for generations to come.”
    Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia added, “Florida is grateful for President Trump’s immense contributions. I am proud to approve the conveyance of land next to the historic Freedom Tower, a symbol of freedom for so many, for the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library.”

    Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson also praised the decision, saying, “Florida is President Trump’s home state, and there is no more fitting place for his Presidential Library.”

    This project marks the first presidential library established in Florida. It aims to attract visitors from around the world to learn about his presidency.

    Shame that they are tearing down a perfectly good parking lot to make place for this most likely tasteless and tacky building. Who wants to bet it is going to be ugly as hell, and orange. just like Trump himself.
