We still have to play a lot of teams in the top tier of these power rankings, along with a few others listed higher than us. NFL Week 4 Power Rankings: Bills jump to No. 1, Texans stumble https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-week-4-power-rankings-bills-jump-to-no-1-texans-stumble
Don't think we have anyone worthy of getting a 7th back in return at those positions. Unless we give up Hunter. Probably get a 3rd in return. It's also waving the flag for next year's defense. 1st pick would have to be Hunter's replacement.
honestly this is what I’m wondering. If we lose to titans, we are going to get smacked by Baltimore. We’ll be 0-5. We’d be primed for a top 5 pick. Stroud is regressing. We are failing him but he is also failing him. At what point do we part ways? This is not meant to say we should or it’s a good idea. Rather to generate discussion. If Demeco survives this, his leash is going to be short next year. I see no way how caserio is retained. Because otherwise, that’ll be 3 new offenses in 3 years by firing Caley and the odds of a young QB rebounding from that are very low (see Trevor Lawrence). The organization has to either double down or pull the plug if you ask me.
Yeah, the shots he’s been taking lately sounds like his not on the same page with the front office. disagreement about communication, offense, the release of CJJ, not showing sympathy towards fans wearing our enemies hats lol. I was thinking the best thing we could do to save the season is move Nico for 2 legit lineman and let the rookie WR play it out with Kirk.
If a team wants their QB, they get their QB. Can you think of any star QB that left their team voluntarily? It's just how the NFL works. Teams will ultimately pay QB's top-tier value even if they aren't top-tier because they don't want to start fresh. it's why guys like Kyler Murray or Dak Prescott or Brock Purdy end up being paid similarly to Mahomes, Allen, or Jackson.
26. Russell Wilson 27. Bryce Young 28. C.J. Stroud 29. Michael Penix 30. J.J. McCarthy 31. Cameron Ward This is the range of QB play Stroud has been. Any of these guys getting paid?
I said if the *team* wants to keep them. I have no if the Texans will want to keep him, but if they do, they'll pay him a ton of money and he'll stay. He's not leaving by choice. Trevor Lawrence, Daniel Jones, etc got paid despite similar performances. 3 of the people you listed are early in rookie deals so they can't get paid anyway. Russell Wilson's team didn't want him. Young's team likely doesn't want him either.
I bet they would trade for Barnett. If they traded Hunter, I would take a chance on a lower level FA edge and a combination of Barnett/Horton and a drafted edge not using a 1st rd pick unless an edge was BPA.
According to Stoots and PFF CJ's been the worst QB in the NFL over the last 13 games. You dont pay the worst QB in the NFL.
Nobody is going to give you 2 legit OL in season. Best you could hope for IMHO is a WR needy team like the Pats giving you a 2026 1st/3rd and a 2027 2nd. Pittsburgh would be another consideration if they have the cap space.
I see Caserio surviving before Ryans does. But I think they both survive. For me the question is how bad does the record have to be before Ryans benches CJ?
He can’t bench him. We all already know what Mills is as well. It’s more likely that they’d neuter him in the game plan and we’d run a ton and they’d scapegoat Caley first. That said, put me in the camp if we’re nearing trade CJ territory because of Nick. We wasted his rookie contract and still don’t know if we broke him for good. He’s Trevor Lawrence right now. We cannot pay Lawrence so we should be curious about what return we can get…for the next GM to fix. Nick has to go if we boot CJ.
