If he's not ready yet, and the Rockets decide to make a move after Dec.15th, utilizing FVV's contract ... Who is the guy? KD's here, and Stone isn't going to be messing around.
My immediate impression is that Stone sets his rocks in place now and frowns on mid-season deals. Is there any evidence that his phone actually works once the season starts?
I honestly think the 2nd seed was a surprise last year. The Durant signing was a flip of the script. We are now a contending team even with the FVV injury. They will be much more aggressive in the trade market if Durant is healthy at the trade deadline. I’m hoping it won’t be necessary because Amen is a superstar initiator and Reed is an adequate rotational guard. Not to mention, Sengun hitting 3 pointers consistently. This team is loaded as long as Durant is healthy and still pretty potent even if not. Jalen really sucked last year even if he turns out great we are a better team than last year.
Saying a #3 pick isn't ready in his 2nd season is saying you don't believe in him. Personally, I believe in Reed, but I don't believe in Ime's ability to set lineups so he'll probably want a terrible player instead.
Already blaming it on Ime. Reed has the potential to be a good rotational guard and Ime’s rotations are questionable, but the comment on “terrible” players is just hyperbolic which you are the unquestioned king of.
Look, Reed isn't going to be an amazing defender in his second year. FVV was already 25 when he won a title with the Raptors as their sixth man, with all those extra years of hitting the weights so he could be a point of attack defender against bigger guards. If Ime expects Reed to be an island and blames him for not being the point of attack defender that FVV is, versus accepting that Reed needs some help from his uber-athletic, tall, long teammates, then it will be Ime setting Reed up for failure and Ime setting the Rockets up for failure.
From day 1 Ime has been incompetent when it comes to lineups and rotations, that's nothing new.... it's why we have to say "when he actually got playing time" when talking about Reed Shepard.... and why we had to say that about Amen his rookie year. I get it, you are worried that your guy will end up staying a really good forward instead of being forced into a PG role where he'll fail so you're lashing out. It'll be okay my guy.
Pretty sure we can't use FVV's contract because of his player option, he's got an effective no-trade clause and why would he want to jump from a contender he helped build?
You back throwing a b**** fit again? LOL You so desperately want my attention, you must lack strong male role models. Sorry kid, it's not going to happen for you.
Bill Simmons mentioned Jose Alvarado, Ayo Dosumu, TJ McConnell, and Payton Pritchard as potential affordable replacements, and Derrick White as the more pricey option. If I'm not mistaken we could technically trade FVV after December 15, although I imagine we'd ask for his blessing. I believe in Reed too but man that's a ton of pressure for a player in what amounts to his rookie season.
Fred's got a player option on his next year so he's not tradeable (has a no trade clause) unless he wants to leave the contender he helped build and his best friend head coach. If we're moving anybody it's likely going to be Tari.
