It is not like the Rockets invented that for him, yes, he mostly played PG and SG for OTE but also played a little SF.

Can we get Ricky Rubio to come out of retirement?

Seriously, if we expend a single asset to bring in a FVV replacement then A) the Rox view Reed as a mistake and B) Stone should be fired. Let Reed do what he was drafted to do.

Tari won’t get signed. Time to get something in return.

Appreciate the list but unless a trade, we are hard capped under the 1st apron, the room we have is not even enough for the vet min.

Not sure what two way maneuvering is possible, but most on the list have enough of years of service ( like a Josh Christopher ) where they've aged out and no longer eligible for two-way.

Roll with the current guards and see what they got. Sink or swim.

Would it not make sense to just waive Tate stretch his salary.

That would give the rockets chance to pick up someone.

Think they still can use stretch provision, pay off there salary in 4 years.

But i doubt they do this, someone like Tate who to me, wont be getting much time here, would
    be ideal.

They really need thou a vet pg for playoff exp.

    45% fg

    vs

    38% fg

    Westbrick shoots better than FVV

I feel if the Rockets get a guard he should be a legit difference maker rather than someone who may be slightly better than Aaron Holiday. I'm thinking Tyler Heero, Derrick White type. If this team is truly clicking on all cylinders except at PG, definitely worth giving up one of the good picks (a Phoenix or Brooklyn pick) to get a guy that can push us into championship contention. Of course if the team flounders without FVV even with KD, then it may be better to just cut your losses and trade KD at the deadline and retool for next year. But if the team is legit, they should push in their chips fully rather than half measures.

Shooting isn’t the biggest issue. Just look at this last playoff run with Denver and the fact that he’s currently sitting at home.

Do the Kings have both Schroeder and Devin Carter ahead of Keon Ellis? I wouldn't mind prying away either Carter or Ellis. I think I would prefer Ellis because I think he would come cheaper and he's had more time to mature as a player.

I don't know what the Kings might want that would be a reasonable ask. Even if the rumors are true that Tari and the Rockets are far apart, Tari is way too much to offer for a player like Keon Ellis.

If Sengun had the season ending injury instead of FVV, Adams would be the only center on the roster. Adams is old and still ramping up from his surgery. The decision to sign Capela for depth and injury insurance was not a bad one.

FVV's injury is a big loss but at least we have Amen, Reed, and Holiday to fill in the minutes. The only question is how much better Reed is than last season.

We often agree - but not on this one. I don't think signing Capela was very smart.

You guys are acting like we didn't sign two lotto PGs in the last two years. Your Fred replacement is supposed to already be on the roster. Is the replacement the guy who can't shoot but is elite at everything else(a less head case version of Ben Simmons) or is it the guy who has exactly one elite skill in shooting and is the modern day answer to 'would Mark Price be effective in the modern NBA?"...and btw, no one on the OPs list still available is going to make a difference on this roster compared to Aaron Holiday.

I think you have to at least give these two young guys a chance to make a difference as our PG because ultimately we were looking to be past needing Fred inside the next 2 years anyway. This is really about surfacing that information sooner rather than later. FWIW, I thought Ime relied to heavily on Fred last year given his age and the long term goal to find a PG who fits our team's window. Fred's injury sucks, but it kind of forces what SHOULD have begun last year.

...of course having two years of KD means we can't completely leave it to be a development year but I think by January we should have a good idea of whether Amen can play PG full time and/or whether Reed could be a long term option and then you decide if you need to go shopping for a PG using Fred's contract, potentially a pick, and/or potentially Tari or Reed if the value proposition is there. If Amen can't play PG full time, I think he's still safe because he's so good at so many roles already - this is just about how to best use our swiss army knife.
