I wanted the dead weight dumped so Ime would stop wasting minutes on them and I hoped for either some improvement or a first round pick. We got no improvement, kept the dead weight, and got no first rounder. Classic Stone.
I had mixed feelings about Fox but I think I would have been happy if we'd traded for him at roughly the price SAS got him for--we kinda let them get away with one on us. Mostly I just wanted any competent backup point guard. Inexcusable to look at this roster and look at what happened the last four games and not go get somebody. Even just Dennis Schroder would have been a very nice pickup for us. Only thing that might excuse it is if we make a good enough pickup on the buyout market.
Who gets traded for a starting Guard come Febuary? any good Pg on short contracts to replace Van Vleet?
That’s really frustrating - the fact that we now NEED to make such a trade, when we COULD make a move for a backup pg last deadline (for let’s say the ending contracts of Tate, Uncle and Jock and picks). Now the price we’re gonna pay is much higher.
Hrmmm... If we traded expirings for a PG (who??) then we wouldn't have those players, DFS and Capela (would have been over the apron). So, I dunno. Hindsight is 20/20, but in this case your what ifs are a bit confused
We did re-signed Holiday, Tate and Uncle, on top of signing DFS. So I guess we could easily let 2 or 3 of them go in exchange for a decent backup pg last deadline.
Do you know what their salaries were last deadline and now? And how much space we have before the hard cap line? Might be worth investigating!! (If you don't want to, here is the answer: what you're saying originally isn't possible)
Well my friend, I’ll admit I did not perform deep investigation on this. Assuming you did, I’ll take back my wrong hindsight conclusions.
