Yea no, this is the city of superstars, the Rockets don't go without the playoffs more than 4 seasons and we get a superstar every time.
I watched all of it. This is exactly what Amen must improve to become a superstar. Similar for Alpi. Yes, Jabari/Tari/Reed are important also, but the Rockets have a sky high upside if just these two pop.
Yeah, he was actually really good on middies when he took them last season, but the shot volume was fairly low. Probably he just needs more confidence, and the extra practice will help with that.
I was impressed/surprised at just how granular a level they actually work with players to help correct form and movements. Like you can see already how much better more fluid and concise Amen looks in his moves compared to the season. Hopefully it translates to games, he could be well ahead of where i thought he'd be.
If I was a father with a son who wanted to play in leagues I would search for all of this publicly posted workouts. Imagine how much free advanced knowledge we get to witness! These players pay these coaches $1000’s - $10,000’s for this info & personal training.
Where did you get that number? According to the NBA, he shot 38.2% from mid-range last season. https://www.nba.com/stats/players/s...eason&DistanceRange=By+Zone&TeamID=1610612745
So you just discounted half of the stat to push your own narrative? Seems fairly disingenuous. So he's not in fact decent from the mid range, he's pretty shitty (unless you discount half of the midrange.) LMFAO...
Meh, everything 2 ft+ further away from the FT line, you might as well take a 3. He hasn't taken many of those anyhow.
actually 44% from 3ft to below 3pt line is already pretty good for just the 2nd year "no jump shot player" if Amen eliminates those bad long 2s he can actually be 50% from 3ft to below 3pt line next year Jalen might actually be worse in his 4th year
I said the same thing last year. They finally did it in the playoffs and the results were great. They will be even better. I have no doubt that Amen put in a tremendous amount of work in the off-season to improve every area of weakness. He has Larry Bird level of love for the game. I expect he will have some jitters in his new role to start the season, so here’s to hoping that Ime doesn’t panic if the turnovers are a little high or has a few bad games.
I don't think he'll have jitters at all. He's not built like that. Took him a bit to adjust to the playoffs but as a second year player against Draymond/Steph/Jimmy he got it together and adapted and delivered. Unlike the other castoff who was in his 4th year and still couldn't do it. This is what Amen has wanted all along and Fred was always going to be standing in his way. It's his team now.
