Trump says he's designating antifa as "a major terrorist organization"

I just think it's so funny that the maga reps and tramp keep crying, "it was antifa", when in reality there is no big bad organization funding them nor really any group but now tramp is designating them as a terrorist organization, which legally they can't do but there maga sheep believe it................its one huge circle jerk , and the entire time tramp THINKS its true, maga reps know it's a lie but must appease the king and then the sheep buy it because they cant type antifa into the google machine...............................you can't make this **** up. tramp could tell the sheeples there are aliens on mars, and they would all fall in line.

Well, on Jan 6th they blamed Antifa until the truth came out, and most of the of those police beating extremists threatening to kill Pulosi and Pence were MAGA die-hard and hate group leaders and members. Then they decided to call them victims and Patriots,; worthy of pardons. How gross is that?

 

If we want to reduce the weight and gravitas of the designation, this makes perfect sense.

Here is the text of the Executive Order (they call it an executive order on the white house website, but I don't yet find it in the Federal Register):

A couple interesting things here.

1. The action part of this EO is that "All relevant executive departments and agencies shall utilize all applicable authorities to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle any and all illegal operations — especially those involving terrorist actions — conducted by Antifa." But aren't all relevant executive departments and agencies already using their authority to investigate illegal operations? Maybe it signals to federal law enforcement that left-wing agitators are an area of focus (which, if you were career-minded, you already knew without Trump saying it aloud).

2. Likewise, looking in Section 1, they have a very long description of what Antifa is, and it seems to require revolutionary intent and the use of violence. Obviously, the objective here is to make Antifa sound as evil as possible. But, the effect seems to me to exclude all but the most extreme Antifa organizations. A chapter with Antifa literally in its name that organizes a sit-in to protest an ICE operation somehow falls outside their definition because sit-ins are nonviolent and opposing immigration enforcement falls short of fomenting the overthrow of the US Government.

3. So, does anybody have standing to oppose this EO? I suppose that is the beauty of it. You can keep a domestic terrorist designation on the books despite free speech protections because the only specific organizations it will actually apply to will be engaged in actual illegal activity. Maybe later, when Americans are more used to having domestic terror organization designations around, they can add some teeth to the order.
