I'd agree with you if Reed hadn't already gone down to the G-League last year and dominated against similar professionals, McDonald's All Americans, former NBA players, and NCAA first teamers in his cameo there. And the G-League is a clear step up from Summer League play. The gap in talent/performance might be extremely small between professionals, but it clearly matters a ton, and I refuse to believe that these guys can't also see it/feel it while they're practicing or playing, considering how honed in they are on every minute detail.
That’s a good point. He did play well in g league. But seeing and acknowledging someone for their accomplishments is different than “looking up” to someone. That term/phrase is silly to me in this context. If Reed was my brother I would say the same. “You haven’t done shi+. Don’t get a big head. You aint shi+ yet. Keep working and honing your skills. Nothing is given. Keep your head up. Don’t give up.”
That’s my mentality as well. I have a feeling he has the same keep your head down and work type mentality.
Saw some panini cards / sticker packets at a local American sportsstore and the face of the pack?! Reed hahahah
As I pointed out, Curry's hype happened when he was 24-25.....Sheppard's 19-20 and way before the draft. They should credit his public relation team.....
I don't mind him running the point in spurts ....thing is who is going to bail us out handling the rock when shet hits the fan? Durant and Alperen playing PG? Amen who can only speed things up but not slow things down?
In the half court yeah KD and Sengun will be relied on heavily to essentially play PG. People kind of conflate the guy who brings the ball up the court with the lead facilitator/PG. My concern really is how much the rockets will really have KD at 100% this season and on-going. IMO Amen is the guy who the team is going to be reliant on to make that jump as a star and grow as a facilitator.
I don’t think it is even a new thing. It just made the transition to Amen a little harder and sooner. When he struggles (and he will at times), they won’t be able to revert back to FVV. Reed was drafted for his shooting, not his playmaking or initiation skills.
