FVV's most important quality is his leadership, he can still do that from the bench and the locker room. Reed will have to step up, and I think he can.

Amen has been training for this the whole off-season. We got better.

The whole starting lineup is gonna be 6'8 and up

    Yes.

Within the confines of the NBA.
There is no "confine" that allows someone to sign a $25million player without capspace.

Capela was added via trade - it was a part of the KD trade, where we sent out salary, and received salary in return.
Part of facilitating that trade was a reduction in FVV's salary amount, there was a team option for $45mill, and reducing him to $25mill meant we could make that trade AND STILL have space (under the hard cap) to use the MLE to bring in DFS.

Nothing to see here, move along.

I agree, Fred is definitely being undervalued for what he brings. Reed can’t even fill Holiday’s role.

    Man! What a bummer

FVV value lies mainly in his efficiency running a point. I expect the Rockets to be the league leaders in turnovers next season.

    I may start Holiday

Ime seems to vehemently disagree given how much PT Fred gets and how close they seem off the court.

That’s great for defense but how is that for ball handling? I expect us to average a lot of turnovers.

It was deeply myopic of the team not to get floor leader/guard depth - instead, we added more players at the spots (big forwards, centers) where we already have a minutes and talent crunch. I would have much rather spent the money we spent on Capela and DFS on a decent backup PG (Davion Mitchell anyone??). Now we have nobody - neither Amen nor Aaron Holiday are real PGs and Reed may not even be an NBA player.

As others have said, Fred was the only legit floor leader and reliable ball handler on the team. I won't say the team will be a headless chicken, but it might be a Ferrari without a driver or steering wheel.

I really hope I'm wrong, but I think our chance to compete with Durant just ended unless we make some major trades.

They need to have a team trainer/doctor at these minicamps to make sure everyone is stretching properly. This sucks….

What a bummer, and what an understatement saying that is. We have to hope that Reed doesn't freak out and instead steps up.
Heck, perhaps Amen will stun the league, and us, and become the terrific point guard we didn't know we had.
