[SHAMS] Fred VanVleet - Torn ACL - Out for the season

Man, this sucks. I thought this was going to be a prove it year for FVV anyway. I thought that he would be traded for Harden next offseason if the rockets don’t win a championship. Depending on what happens to the LAC, maybe it could be sooner.

 

Wonder if it’s possible to flip durant since he hasn’t signed his extension yet. Idk what they could even get though

 

I'm guessing this will cost us 8-10 wins.

I know, but it doesn’t hurt to hope! Season is lost so should be a pure development season and he’s just wasting minutes.

 

I've watched almost every Rockets game last season and I know what I see. Reed is not ready, clear and simple. The role Fred fills requires veteran skills, which Reed doesn't have.

The season isn't lost with FVV out, he was like 6th or 7th most important player, it does change things but it was changing anyway, better it happened before the season.

They will now be a better rebounding team and will play much faster.....I look forward to what is happening.

The season isn’t lost because the Rockets are without VanVleet. It’s not ideal and certainly makes things harder, but they can still start Thompson, Finney-Smith, Durant, Jabari Smith Jr. and Sengun with Eason, Adams/Capela and Sheppard coming off the bench.

That’s still one of the most talented teams in the NBA, and they have plenty of trade chips to get a VanVleet replacement.

The DPE does not over ride the hard cap at the first apron.

They don't have 14m, they have $1,255,58

 

That's my guess too. Especially in the early part of the season. Hopefully they can make up for it, but I think a lot of people underestimate what FVV brings to this team. Guess we'll find out.

Again if he looks like he did AS A ROOKIE in the only times he got legitimate minutes, that's an upgrade from FVV. I get that casuals will struggle with the basics, so I won't hold it against you. We're close enough to basketball starting that I'll just let you carry on in ignorance rather than getting into it with you.
