I just watched Detroit execute a picture perfect drive against the Ravens. Now I remember what real football looks like.
Ravens O-line just mauling people… but Detroit’s defense had the prefect spy on Jackson that prevented him from stepping up. Just great coaching on both sides, total chess match. There’s a common link with all the truly great/dominant teams right now in the NFL. It’s not just “elite QB”.
I don't think he meant it in that way as if no one in the locker room is concerned with the record, I think its more of a they know they suck but they're gonna play hard anyway because their opponents aren't going to have sympathy for them
Jackson was sacked 7 times and their RB fumbled, but their offense was still able to score 30 points. Something's gotta give here.
I agree with MadMax — I don’t really know either, but one thing the video of the play to end the 3rd makes clear is that, with the play and game clocks winding down, and even with less time on the game clock, there was no visible urgency from CJ or anyone else on the field. Looking at the play in slow motion: at 29 seconds, the previous play is over. At 27, Chubb tosses the ball to the ref. At 24 seconds, CJ puts his hands to his helmet—probably trying to hear better—and at 21 seconds, he looks down at the plays on his wrist and then they start huddling up. With just 2–3 seconds left, they break to line up. Honestly, I see no situational awareness here either. Demeco reportedly yelled to Caley(?) to speed things up, but we don’t know when — maybe they are both at fault, but CJ does need to manage this situation better on the field.
