Under a minute, the man who put the "small" in "small forward" shows why Mike Dunleavy brought him to Portland.

Uh ... Mike ... Didn't you watch what Scottie did with the ball in the final minute of LAST year's playoff game against L.A.?

Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn YOU Will.... you beat me to it. [IMG] This big arena news (good news by the way!) kept me from coming in to post in the 'Dish forum.... but just had to utter the three words I came away saying after the game:

    "Nice pass, Scottie"

I don't mean to be a party pooper, but Scottied made up for that mistake by shooting 5 - 13 from the field.

Man, you guys are really pathetic....Pippen made every big shot, as well as defensive play, for Portland down the stretch. Dunleavy lost this game. I mean, maybe going to Stacey Augmon a couple of times at the end of the first half was productive, since Bryant was in foul trouble, but you don't have to use him as your go-to guy in the second half as well. Not to mention Detlef Shrempf being on the floor for what seemed like forever...and then there's Sabonis, who wasn't touched on the last play but started whining to the refs before LA even gained possession.

Oh well, Phil proves to be a genius again I guess... [IMG]

You beat me to it with your first response Freak. Lol [IMG] The only thing i want to add regarding that is that often times when Pippen establishes himself offensively early in the game it gives the team a nice spark. He didn't do that early this game and that's what kinda disappointed me. Fresh start tommorrow though. I hope Dunleavy doesn't have Damon on Kobe.

A lot of Portland fans are getting pissed at Dunleavy for some of the decisions he has made in the playoffs. Often times he sits his starters even when they are on fire, and even when the laker starters are still on the floor. Maybe he could do that against the Wolves and Spazz, but you're not going to beat the lakers in that way. Oh well, a must-win game four coming up.

How 'bout New York today? A string of aches and pains and they still win. [IMG] Maybe I'll be right on my early-season prediction of a Blazer-Knick finals [IMG].

It was just a matter of time before Scottie choked in the clutch again. Last year against the Lakers, he dribbled it off his foot in the final seconds and then unfairly blames Chuckster for losing the game. Who's he got to blame this year? Sabonis for not passing him the ball on the last shot?

Like the crybaby he is, Pippen knocks over a stack of towels on the way to the locker room. Grow up, you big whimp!!

Coming from a Bud Adams-loving Quitten apologist, I take that as a sincere compliment. [IMG]

It wouldn't have mattered if Scottie had scored 60... his pass blew the game... and made my day.

Guys, guys...no need to get hostile. I don't see any reason why we can't cheer on our ex-Rockets and ex-Oilers together. It's important that we show them our support now, to let them know we realize we made a mistake by letting them go. Here's to not reliving our failures of the past...go Scottie...go Bud.

I know you guys loved seeing Pippen screw up in the last minute, but it sure was fun as hell to see him school that overhyped Kobe twice in the last 3 minutes. Pippen made that one mistake guys. Other than that, he was a big time clutch player who almost single-handedly brought the Blazers back in the game. Did you see his steal of Rice on one end, and then the big three on the other? Nice play. Freak is right on this one. Don't get me wrong- I still hate Pippen like the rest of you. But for this series, I am cheering him on as strongly as ever. ANYTHING to knock out the Fakers. I would rather see Scottie score 30 points a game in the Finals and win MVP than to have the Lakers win.

Like TheFreak and The Cat, for some reason the Lakers are modifying my hate towards Mr. Quitten. I still hate him with a passion, but I like the Blazers as a team (at least more than the Lakers), and I feel the East champion would have a better chance of defeating Portland than L.A. I have to admitt, when he started hitting those shots in the 4th quarter on Friday, I caught myself cheering him - and his team - on. Of course, I had to slap myself repeatedly after realizing my shameful act [IMG]

Obviously, that pass to Rice was lethal and may have cost them the game, but he has also made key defensive plays, hit big shots, and provided much needed leadership to his team throughout this series, and the play-offs. Honestly, how many of you believe the Blazers would make it this far it if it weren't for Pipsqueek? Don't get me wrong, I hate him. But I hate him as a person, not as a basketball player. Like it or not, he is a damn good basketball player even without MJ. He's just a poor excuse for a human being.

The only reason I don't want the Lakers to win is because of NBC and everyone else who has their lips around Shaq's and Kobe's you-know-whats.

    Beyond that, go Lakers.

I wish Thomas Hamilton would come back and eat Pippen for his mid-snack snack.

It ws Barkley's fault, and he wants to be traded to the Lakers. Changing the story would be too difficult.

I was never a Bud fan, but I can see an arguement why a mistake was allowed letting him go; however, Quitten is a different matter. A friend told me that Pippen would not improve the Rockets, and was at best an above average player who MUST have a superstar to feed off of to be successful. Well Rick, you were right about that. Quitten sucked the whole season, cost us game one in the playoffs, and got out of town. Thank God he is anywhere but Houston. Oh, and for the record Mr. Quitten, the Bulls would kick the Blazers arse plain and simple. For the record Blazer fans who post here, you have a good team, but too many unstable superstars to take the next step...aka Wallace. Wallace is a great clutch player, but he needs to be on Prozac.

I'm really curious to see who Pip blames for the series loss to the Lakers.
I wonder if it will be Sheed for getting tossed, Dunleavy for questionable coaching? My best 2 guesses are:
    1. Charles- Pip was doing fine until he appologized and now he is playing like the pip of old.
    2. MJ- Pip can't take a crap by himself, so I bet he will blame MJ for leaving him to carry the team.
Anyways I'm sure Pip is still in disbelief how the best team he has ever played on is losing 3-1 to the Lakers.

My new hope is Pip is traded to LA in the offseason and he shows how he can ruin anything!
