Nope. Fred was big for this team, but he wasnt going to be the difference between winning a ring or not. Rockets stil have a lot hinging on the growth of their young guys. If Amen and Sengun take off replacing Fred wont be as brutal. If they dont take a big leap then the Window wasnt going to be open anyways.

Again, Fred was important for this team but lets not forget he was not good last year and while i enjoyed his playoff performance that was an anomaly on the year. Many here wanted gone even after the playoff success.

 

Knows how to turn it up for the playoffs. The Leadership and the timely feeds to Alpi will be missed.

So, this is awful. FVV really is the glue of this team. But...

I am excited to see if Reed is the guy. No better way to figure that out than throwing him to the fire.

 

That's 7 months from now. Don't recoveries from ACL tears take longer than that?

And he'd still have to play his way back into shape. My guess is the Rockets immediately put those lottery picks on the market and look for a new PG. Unless they have a supreme level of confidence in Reed Sheppard.
