Can the Sixer's upset the Laker's? Can Iverson make Kobe look crazy? Can Shaq be stopped(probably not). Anyway you look at it NBC will go for L.A., but I have to go with the underdog so I say Sixer's in seven! ------------------ TheMugg
the Laker's what? ------------------ fitter, happier more productive comfortable not drinking too much eating well (no more microwave dinners and saturated fats) sleeping well (no bad dreams) no paranoia fitter, healthier and more productive a pig in a cage on antibiotics
The Sixers have been pushed to seven in the last two series. They are tired, sore, and will not last long against a well-rested Lakers team that is hitting on all cylinders. Philly has made a wonderful run coming out of the East, but they're in trouble against LA. If the Spurs can't win a game against LA, then what chance does Philly have??? ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
Game 1- Sixers 89 Lakers 84 Game 2- Sixers 78 Lakers 98 Game 3- Lakers 87 Sixers 90 Game 4- Lakers 105 Sixers 99 Game 5- Lakers 90 Sixers 94 Game 6- Sixers 88 Lakers 100 Game 7- Sixers 97 Lakers 95 ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death." This series should be no contest in the Lakers favor. The Sixers have showed a lot of grit, but the Bucks basically gave them this series. The Bucks played stupid at times with untimely shots, fouls, etc. The Lakers are in such a zone that I feel they will be just too much for the Sixers. The Lakers might have some rust in the first game but it shouldn't matter. Once they warm up, it probably won't be a contest. ------------------
Sixer's will win the series! And Iverson will make Kobe look DUM. Kobe will finally have to guard a real player! Not to mention the NBA's MVP!!! The only thing that's a HUGE problem is Shaq. ------------------ I'm the Baddest Cat around!!!!!
Look for Iverson to average about 45 points in this series. It doesn't look so good for Philly, but I do agree with someone on the BBSs' theory that AI will cancel out Kobe, and Mutombo could possibly semi-contain Shaq. Hmmm...I always go for the underdogs and the happily ever after stories (the newfound respect between AI and Larry Brown), so I want the Sixers to win, and I think they could do it if they stole a game in L.A. early on. ------------------ "They couldn't shoot, rebound, or pass, but other than that, they played great!" -Bill Walton
I don't think Iverson will be very effective against Kobe. As a result, the Lakers will win, probably in 4 or 5. ------------------
The Sixer's will win in six! I can't wait to see the expression on Jackson's face when he loses this one. ------------------ I'm just to slick for everybody!!!!!
Write it down. Sixers will win. When I throughly read the script to the upcoming finals, I will say in how many games. But, from the first go around, I see David Stern has asked the officials to not let anyone slam Iverson to the ground and risk injury. If that happens and Philly still wins, people will think "No way can the Sixers beat the Lakers with no Iverson! The NBA must be fixed!" Imagine someone thinking that? ------------------ Sleepless in the Bronx
I love that this is even a question. It's nice to know that there is such optimism left in the world. Lakers in four. They shall have their coronation as one of the greats of all time if NBC has its way. You that say otherwise, pass me whatever you're smoking, must be some good $hit. You'll just have to excuse me while I sit over here in the corner and chuckle to myself. Lakers in four. Write it down. Paint it on the walls. Etch it in stone. Tattoo it on your worst imaginable and most uncomfortable places. Anything less than a sweep will only strengthen any current conspiracy theories, and be utterly blatant in doing so. If you need me, I'll be in the bathroom...throwing up. ------------------ Gascon
Lakers in 5, maybe 6. Iverson isn''t 100% and has not shot well in the playoffs. Kobe happens to be one of the best perimeter defenders in the league (he shut down Steve, Kidd, and Iverson this year ). Advantage Kobe and the Lakers. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."
The Lakers will win the series in 7. Actually about 7 minutes into the 1st game the Sixers will understand they have no chance and will become the newest whipping boy for Shaq-Kobe & Company. Lakers in a sweep.
I seriously question the sanity of anyone that thinks the Sixers are going to win this series. Lakers in 4, they will finish off the Sixers much like they've finished off the Kings, Blazers, and Spurs, completing one of the most dominant playoff runs in NBA history. I've actually started to miss the perfection the Lakers have displayed on the court during the playoffs. That Sixers-Bucks series was one of the most unwatchable series I've seen in a long time, neither team impressed me. ------------------ They're loud, they're obnoxious and proud, They are conscious but don't forget that theeeey're your future, These kids are accused for all the violence, You can't even keep them silent, You...thought you had...all the answers...
For all of you who say the Laker's, that's O.K. because it makes it that much sweeter when the Sixer's take this one! ------------------ I'm just to slick for everybody!!!!!
Not that it may have made a difference in this series, but if the Sixers had beaten the Bulls the last game of the season then they would have had homecourt advantage in the Finals. ------------------
I have to give the Sixers a lot of respect. The heart, determination, desire, etc. they came out with in game 7 was incredible, and I'm starting to enjoy watching them play. Because of the way they fight even when they're down, I think they can win a game or two from LA. Asking them to win the series is too much most likely, but if they could find a way to steal Game 1, I could see this being a long series. So for right now I'm saying Lakers in 6, maybe 5. ------------------ President of the Mo Taylor and Jason Collier fan club! Draftsource.net-- the premier source for draft info.
