either u hate this guy or u love him but make no mistakes, if the rockets want to take it to the next level he has to be a key player. everyone can see that he has game but its also as painfully obvious that he is usually totally out of sink on the court. i think a lot has to do with his teamates not getting the ball in his hands in the right position. they should not hesitate to pass him the ball when he is open at the three line or when the deffense is rotating to take advantage of his slashing ability. it seems like they think twice about passing to him so when he does get the ball, he usually is so anxious to do something good that he messes up. he is best when he plays with in the flow of game so have some confidence in ur boy and lets find out if he can play.

Acctuly i think the last 2 games he played pretty good w/ his teammates even though he only had what 1 point last game? Plus he really isnt ready for major min on the floor yet maybe some day he will be.. & i think u kinda answered your own question. The reason why they dont give him the ball all the time is becuase, "he usually is so anxious to do something good that he messes up."

i agree that he has shown us some good things these first couple of games, especially rebounding wise. if his teamates would consistentely involve him in the offense and show some confidence in the guy, i think he would calm down and begin to play his game

They really should have more sinks out there on the court. There are really a lot of guys out of sink because, frankly, there aren't enough to go around.

I also believe Boki is an immense talent and if he could hit the shots he does in practice it would help catapult us into the upper echelon of elite teams.

JJ is an undersized 3 and im seeing players shoot over him like hes not there. He also hasnt been keeping up with whoever he's guarding and it looks like he lost a step or three.

Boki would be the ideal (prototype) SF in my opinion. He has the length and speed to play tough defense (maybe not as physical) but always in their face. He can slash with the best and once his outside shot starts to drop he will be lethal.

You all are in denial of Nachbar. Nachbar hasn't shown that he was worth the first round selection we used on him. Unlike boki, Tayshaun Prince used the little minutes he had to show his protential and now he is a vital part of the Piston lineup. Boki has yet to show that he is an NBA player. The Rockets and most of our fans still hold out hope for Nachbar, who is not the type of player they hoped he would be. They are in denial that he is not as good as they had hoped. The reason that Jim Jackson, is given large minutes at the small forward position is because boki is not a suitable option at that position for significant minutes. Time to come to reality that Nachbar was a mistake as was Matt Maloney, Charles Barkley, Mirsad Turkcan, Bryce Drew and the soon to be realized mistake of Charlie Ward and Bob Sura. The latter two are the primary reason the Rox are off to a slow start. If the Rox had addressed the point guard situation with more urgency, they would not have started out 0 and 2.

If onlyl Boki could drain those 3-pointers, we could wash our hands of this frustration.... let's soap!

It just shocks me that a guy can hit over 50% of his shots and almost 70% of his 3's while hustling his ass off and still get ripped.

Boki gets ripped, not for three games, but for 63 games played and less than a 3 points a game average, 36% fg, 65% free throw, and less than 30% three pointers made his first two years. Manu Ginobili hustles, Narchbar just looks like he is hustling. If he would hustle his protential would have shown in at least 10 games out of 63 total. It shocking how we could have had Tayshaun Prince instead of this basketball project that is getting ready to fail.

I think Boki only got one shot last game, a 3 that he nailed. Even then, it looked like Juwon Howard didn't want to have to pass him the ball.

I agree that Boki isn't ready for a major role but he does need to be involved by his teammates otherwise he won't be able to build up on the little confidence he has gained so far.

I like Boki's game, he always play hard, competitive, and his defense is exceptionally good i think. I see a little AK47 in him in the way he play the game. As long as you play hard and competitive, you WILL get minutes under JVG, cuz he likes that type of players. Of course you have to be consistent too...which is what Boki's trying to do...so far so good though i think.

oh yea.....after all, it is sooo easy to get used to the NBA game and find your place in it when you only get sporadic playing time in your first two years....

hell...any player that comes into this league and doesnt show everything they have in only a few minutes worth of playing time must be a bust...

great post....please enlighten us with your vast amounts of roundball wisdom more often...please?

I like Boki's play in last two games. He hustled all over the court and hit his 3 pointers comfortly. What Boki lacks is experience or play time. He just played too hard in defense and looked rogue sometimes.

His slow progression has disappointed Rockets and many people as a first rounder. But, I tend to believe that he is capable to be a moderate-good NBA player like Turkoglu, but I am afraid Rockets does not have the patience.

It would be good if Rockets can resign him cheaply next season.

He picks up fouls easily which results in him being on the bench but if he improves his defensive technique he should get more time.

Boki has about 600 NBA minutes so far. That's just 7 minutes spreading over 82 games. So this is actually just his 2nd season based on the minutes.

Was it Dave Jamerson? Not sure of the spelling, but I believe Boki is destined to follow in his foot-steps - as one of those who just did not pan out in the NBA. It pains me to say as much; but subjects such as this one (implying those around him, care not, or know not how to assist his game) are becoming even MORE painful than Boki's dubious progress it's self.

I hope I am proven wrong, but know I wont be :(

Boki has shown some different pattern that will benifit the Rockets this season and that is the passion to win more games. His dedication to the game is so impressive, he must gain some confidence to take his game to the next level!
