    He is the thing
    I think we conflate term
    Democrat does not mean Liberal
    and
    Republican does not mean Conservative

    At its heart . . .
    IMO
Liberals are trying to push the envelope forward
Conservatives are trying to maintain status quo

    i.e.
    Sexual Spectum
    Liberal = anything goes
    Conservatives = Binary BOY/GIRL . .HETERO only
    (extremes for effect)

Republicans are not trying to maintain status quo . .. IMO they are trying to take over
Democrats are more trying to maintain status quo with a little gradualy movement forward - socially

Some might say Republicans are more results oriented . .. not really caring if it is right or wrong
Democrats are more consensus oriented. .. . not really caring as much about the results as long as everyone gets say

I agree with parts of this. Youre 100% right for the most part on Republicans and Democrats.

I think most of us don't want the transgender stuff which is what liberals are pushing for. Gay people don't bother me whatsoever. Republicans are definitely trying to take back over but a lot don't side with Trump. There's a divide. The Democratic side has no direction. That may change in 2028 but they have nobody to run. Newsom? AOC? Not viable

It is neither, because Conservatives don't do anything to enforce starvation, they just let everyone feed themselves. If 10 people can't hack it, they need to get help from those willing to help them. No one is out there advocating stopping someone from buying their own food. The issue is whether or not you should rob from the rich to give to the poor, or if everyone should be allowed to keep what they have earned and then decide what to do with it.

I agree with most of this.
    Calling myself out.
I used to think Republicans were fiscally responsible.
That no longer appears to be the case.
My social alignment is crazy split.
I am very pro choice but I'm not about forcing fringe issues into my face.
Do what you want but don't make me take a class about inclusion, while I'm trying to do my job.
It's just a non issue for me. I always need associates. Food service is tough to staff.
You can wear a dress and have a beard for all I care. if you can make consistent good food.
Just show up on time, be pleasant, label and date your food and there will never be a problem.
As long as you don't forget to punch in and out.
    Kitchen payroll is a nightmare.

I think people probably agree to an extent on like 75~90% of everything
Many people may not like the beards in a dress. . . but most don't give a sh*t enough to die on that hill.
I think it is some easy fixes for most things that we disagree on . . .if we got the instigators out of the way

    Take the Bathroom issue
3 bathrooms - 1 all bio males 1 all bio females 1 for anyone else
IMO if someone insists on going into one that is not designated. . .
it is just trying to be dominant and imposing their will on others more
    than giving a **** about taking a ****

I can agree the Pronoun thing is insane to me but it is not a hill I will die on
It d*mn sure wasn't a hill to vote for the opposition or not vote at all on . . . .
Anyone who is a 1 issue voter it crazy to me . . ..

The hills we would die on . . . .I think there is a path to compromise
As long as we don't allow the GRIFTERS to use those differences to line their pockets
and empower themselves by feeding on it

    Sigh.

There are national police (FBI, Secret Service, ATF, etc.) orgs and there are national fire services too (Forest Service, BLM, NPS, etc.). Without a federal government, you would drive in a car that is much less safe, breathe air that would be much more polluted, drink water that would be more contaminated, fly in planes that would crash more, have few wage and workplace protections, be working more than a 40-hour week with no extra compensation, pay for your mail delivery, and not have some of the medical breakthroughs of the last 80 years. You wouldn't have the number of universities we currently have, the number of hospitals, or the number of parks. Your health care would be much more expensive and less effective. Farmers would get less academic, practical, and financial support, leading to fewer food options for you. Toys would kill more kids. And good luck forecasting your own weather.

Want hamburgers to grill for the weekend? There's a USDA stamp and a date on the ground beef that guarantees it is safe to consume. Want to drive to Minneapolis? I-35 was a federal project. Use the Internet? Developed by the feds. Ever stay in Southern California and turn the lights on? Some of that electricity is coming from the PNW generated by infrastructure the feds built during the Great Depression and WWII. Want to retire and live into old age with some dignity? Draw from Social Security and make use of Medicare. I could go on and on, but you get the point. So much of what the federal government does is just assumed to be part of life that we take it for granted and don't realize it was a political action.

One reason we don't recognize it is that politicians always try to take credit locally for national programs. We have gone decades without stories about what the federal government does for us all. I think many of us might be about to realize it though. It's amazing to think that a few hundred thousand people gave up higher paying jobs to keep us safe and keep society functioning and we treated them like slime on our shoe heel and threw a bunch of them under the bus. You may not be able to measure some of the resulting impacts, but you will feel them.

I doubt conservatives or liberals approve of the government spending $50,000 to hang 3 giant banners of Trump on government buildings. It's like North Korea type crap, and a complete waste of taxpayer dollars to stroke the ego of a full blown narcissist wannabe King, Authoritarian, Dictator type power monger.

Now, MAGA folks might disagree, because they seem to approve of anything Trump says or does.
