The government telling private businesses and private individuals how they have to conduct themselves with other private businesses and private individuals is indeed almost always a boner of a move.

However, that's not the only thing that CRA did, and it's important not to hide the ball about the fact there was rampant government sponsored discrimination that was nuked from orbit with this legislation.

Because the people they are trying to convince are stupid and will believe anything.

Making evidence up REALLY doesn't bode well for a whole lot of things I'm worried about with these weasels.

Election integrity beimg first and foremost. You think Kash Patel isn't going to "reconstruct evidence of" 10,000 more votes for Trump in Georgia next time around? Do you think the people around here who cary water for Trump will look at the evidence critically when the extra balots magically appear?

Yes, especially under the broad reading of the commerce clause we have seen in the last 90 to 100 years. The original purpose of the Interstate Commerce Clause was to stop states from imposing tariffs on goods from other states, not to make a hotel have no discretion on who gets to rent a room.
You didn't need legislation to get rid of government discrimination, it is already covered by the 14th Amendment. You just needed to enforce that amendment.

Once we find out our government has actually lied to us s*** is going to get bad fast.

It's one thing for the government to be wrong, or have a faulty assumption, or someone to be corrupt, greedy, or selfish.

But once the most venerated and necessary law enforcement apparatuses in the country prove themselves to be untrustworthy beyond any shadow of a doubt we are going to face the end times very quickly.

That begs the question... How do you expect the enforcement to just start happening?

This is what I mean when I say I cannot judge the actors of that time because I wasn't alive to experience the oppression.

If I'm living under those conditions and someone tells me "nah we don't need new laws, the ones we have already cover it" I'm going to look at them like they have a hole in their head.

The government has lied to us before. But it was usually in some roundabout way and also about something incredibly niche or specific that didn't shake trust in the broader project.

But a lie so high profile and in broad daylight? Heads gonna roll.

I think Kash is gonna get shitcanned over this.

    No - it IS insulting.

Go look at what they did on how to assess tariffs and the "program" they used.... straight from the internet, zero effort put into it.

When you have unethical - lazy - entitled - and ambitious people--- this is what we end up with..... and 33% of the US people will go with it, and 25% of the world will.

We have a current US government made up of ghoulish losers that were rightly marginalized by mainstream Democrats and Republicans, that saw a power vacuum and pounced -- but they are not very good at anything but chasing clout.

Yes - however, when you eliminated capable and experienced people that are largely a-political or at least put the oath to the Constitution above all else - and you replace them with impulsive, ambitious but under qualified people that put their top concern being loyalty to a politician --- this is exactly what happens and the question becomes whether we can put the genie back in the bottle and I don't think we can.

The Democratic nominee isn't going to be someone saying they are going to decrease executive power - it will be someone promising their own expansion.

So here we are -- reminds me of the Patriot Act and all the assholes that supported GWB.... two decades later they all claim they hate Bush and never voted for him.....

100% correct, and MAGA is too STUPID to know that their vote is destroying the country they claim to love.

It’s interesting that apparently Omar being a “foreign Muslim” and Kirk being a “Christian” are relevant to the argument he is attempting to make.

I know - who knew that a guy that was involved in Project 25 would act this way.

"Look, the law is very clear. The Communications Act says you have to operate in the public interest. And if you don't, yes, one of the consequences is potentially losing your license. And of course, that's on the table. I mean, look, broadcast licenses are not sacred cows."

Who better to decide what the "public interest" is than Donald Trump and Brendan Carr.

    Buckle up......
