I think Charlie Kirk said a lot of dumb , antagonizing things . But , he has the freedom of speech to do so. Those who say indifferent snarky things about his murder also have the freedom to do so I guess this all comes down to legality vs repercussions and I'm not sure we want to play that game You can argue that a nasty post about his death should get someone fired , or cancelled (whatever). There are many right to work states that don't need any cause at all for firing and so If employers want to go for that , then there probably isnt a legal recourse Same thing with Kimmel getting cancelled etc. at the end of the day , you can always claim "business" But where is the legal line We did pass a civil rights act a while ago that created a line that said you can't refuse business to people based on the fact that they are black I'm not a lawyer . I don't know how that law works I don't know how your freedom of speech protections work within the overall legal framework But I do feel confident saying that we shouldn't want to play this game . The pendulum always swings and people that are cheering on consequences for average Twitter posts #1 are scum , #2 will eventually face the other side of the equation and it won't be pretty . Kirk was dumb and a piece of **** for the most part, but let’s not pretend he was turning on Netanyahu and his influence on the USA. Israel might have something to do with this murder, wouldn’t rule it out. Killing him or anyone over an opinion is of course never justified.
