Methods of non-military subversion

• Exploitation of crisis: A manufactured or real crisis—such as a foreign war, terrorist attack, or economic collapse—can be exploited to justify seizing more power. An opportunistic leader might use such an event to declare a state of emergency and install themselves as a de facto leader.
