Where do you park at the TC these days? I assume $5 Houston Center parking is no longer available. Anyone got any on-the-cheap tips? Gonna see Shane this Friday. Don’t mind walking a long way.

I usually park on side streets for free and walk to TC. It might be several blocks of walking but beats paying for parking.

I'm not super cheap, but I see zero reason to pay $10 for parking. I find it comical when I see several parking spaces free next to a parking lot that's charging $10. And these are for the ones further out, those parking lots closer to TC are really charging a premium. I rather save that money to use elsewhere.

If you're a true tightwad like me, you can find free street parking after 5. This is usually more around the Main St area so you may have to walk but you can always find a place to eat on the way. I'd rather walk a little farther than park close and have to deal with the traffic trying to get out of there.

    You're paying with your time.

However, the farther away you park the less traffic you will deal with. Just ask Clark Griswold.

    Time is fleeting

Also, as a man who became totally unaccustomed to Houston August humidity...

Last time I went to a Stros game (was with my Houston buddy's brother who had never visited him for these purposes), we parked over by 8th Wonder Brewery and played outdoor bocce for a couple of hours before the 7PM game. My t-shirt is soaked with sweat. Time to walk to the game, so NYC guy and I walk back to the truck, get fresh shirts out, put on sprayable goldbond where needed, lay the old ones in the back, and proceed to walk shirtless 8 blocks? to to stadium. Put on the fresh shirts about a block away.
