It reads like the deranged manifesto of a lunatic Communist seeking to sap of us our precious bodily fluids, of our very purity of essence. Good riddance.

A bit of a tangent for small business owners. Always liked Ben and Jerry's social commitments, but now I'm of two minds as an owner. As an employer, we provide the livelihood for a handful of people. And when political things come up, like Abbott's boycott of Israeli boycotts to take a random example, you find yourself counting the cost -- we are willing to pay the cost to speak out, but if we pay that cost, our employees get fewer hours and less pay, and have trouble making ends meet. Becomes a question of whether you can really serve two masters - is this company about my political speech or about creating wealth, not just for us but the employees who have joined the endeavor. Usually, for me, the answer is make your speech as a private citizen and keep the company focused on serving customers and creating value. I suppose for Ben and Jerry's their speech was part of the value prop because it was embedded in their branding. But in general, I think the two things are a bad mix.

Their whole brand was built around their values - which most brands are. If we say corporations can't stand for something and must placate the masse, we're endorsing a snowflake culture.

    It's kind of the problem
We have made companies the most important/powerful "people" in the country
    YET
We expect them to not advocate for the HUMAN PEOPLE

The idea is Money over People.
I truly understand what you are saying but
at some point . . .. things get worse and worse

The greatest weapon in people's arsenal now is. . . . . Hitting people in the Money
    Murder by Financial deprivation
