The #1 strategic priority for the US med term is to get a tech-forward, pragmatic centrist govvernment back in power ASAP, that takes active steps to improve the lives of the middle class and shows some ability to move the debt in a better direction
I don't think assassinations are okay either. I can say I am not surprised that a healthcare CEO or even Charlie Kirk was assassinated- but that doesn't mean that I support them harming them or killing them. I just think that the American people - especially those 40 and under, are desensitized and there is a lot of animosity towards those that are ultra wealthy and have made their lives more difficult (corporations and politicians). I also don't think we have seen the worst of it yet - there is a LOT of political and social volatility in the West and especially the USA now.
No. But I don't see killing one man with gun as more heinous than killing millions with a pen It kind of goes back to the. . . .Would you kill Baby Hitler? Would you do it if there was a 20% chance he would not grow up to be who he was? Rocket River
No one condones killing, however, what can people do when billionaires have control over the government and the court system, how does a people gain back their country without violence? It has never happened, and unlikely to happen - it almost always requires a revolution of some sort where blood is spilled - people are angry, many are starving and our government which is supposed to protect the populace is instead enriching itself and killing people with their policies. Even in the rise of labor unions there was bloodshed......I don't see that changing, I think it gets worse and more people are killed..... Not happy about that, but if history is any indicator it is coming and faster than we think. DD
Whenever you read. "No one condones killing but/however" You know the poster is about to excuse, justify and/or condone the killing.
lmao Exactly. I don't support killing but let me write at length how I am sympathetic to the killing and generally expressing a sentiment of approval.
No justification, just a step back and look at history scenario - it is bound to happen when we have the same conditions as "Let them eat cake"... It is an academic discussion, no one should be surprised that killings will happen, people are mad and we are an armed country..... It is not surprising to me that it is happening and I predict it will get much worse. Nor is it surprising that the depth of some of the posters on the right is so shallow in thinking that they can't understand an academic discussion, without inserting their feelings.....and extrapolating (look it up) out to their worst fear. Because you are not all that bright....learn to critically think and you can join the adults in a discussion. DD
Tell that to all the kids being killed in school, or the lawmakers assassinated in Minny, or Charlie Kirk at a debate, we are here - why don't we take a step back and understand where we go from here to get a better society for all? Because this direction seems to lead to more killing, IMHO. Our country is out of wack, we are in unchecked capitalism, where we go from here is important, can we step back to more democracy as we did after the gilded age? Or do we continue to facism and even more kiling? It will be interesting to say the least. DD
I still think if Luigi gets a jury trial he walks - or at least gets a hung jury - this country is at a boiling point and the mega rich are causing culture wars to take advantage and profit, which only flames things. Here are some things we should do immediately to pull back from it all. 1. Citizens United must go - no more big money in politics 2. Lobbying is outlawed - no more money in lobbying 3. Return tax levels on corporations and the rich to reasonable levels 4. Fine news organizations that lie - if you call yourself News you tell facts only 5. Make social media algorithms participation voluntary 6. Make social media platforms responsible for truth 7. Increase Minimum wage to $20 Just to start. DD
