Didn’t address O-line and didn’t address running back with mixon being old. 2 season of the divisional round and flame out the 3rd year seems on track
What's the point of having someone named British and not use him at the 1. They just don't get it. (smacks keyboard)
It’s an issue; no question. But I wouldn’t put near the top of my list. Someone needs to answer for a) not hiring an experienced offensive coordinator; b) not investing premium picks and money in offensive line personnel. IMO, many issues and concerns look a lot different if the offense was functional. But when you’re only scoring ~14/game - and even that’s a struggle - it really amplifies the other problems because you have no margin for error. I’ll jump up & down until I pass out: not hiring Chip Kelly was just a colossal swing-and-miss. And I’m not even upset (yet) with Caley. But hiring someone with no experience and giving him bargain-basement OL personnel is indefensible. Just a terrible 1-2 punch.
this 1000% This is my biggest fear, Caley is plain bread, there is no sauce to his playcalling. It just looks plain, predictable, there is nothing dynamic to it. Maybe he'll get better as the season goes on, to be fair, it is his 2nd game, but these first 2 games doesn't look any different than the last guy. I really thought we were drafting all these HBs and WRs to do something, to be more dynamic, but nope...its just very standard fare and seems to just be based on hoping our guys beat their man instead of plays that will either prey upon the weaknesses of the opposing defense OR scheme guys open. Like you said, the RBs in the passing game WORKED and we just went away from it. That's troubling to me because it says we once again have an OC that isn't adjusting to the game.
I could see a scenario where he continues to play poorly and a blind group of his fans continue to make excuses for him until he's finally run out of town. Hopefully he'll just start playing better.
Every game like this validates my decision to emotionally check out on this team until proven otherwise.
Same Ole, Same Ole - They KNEW the offensive line was a mess. They KNEW they needed a big NT type. They KNEW that Joe Mixon likely couldn't handle this kind of workload and stay healthy, yet try to patch things up with him nevertheless....Etc, Etc, Etc. This franchise has been a cluster**** from the get go. Instead of building through the draft, they go with Boselli in the last year of the old system.... Just when we thought the circus was gone, and we were a real organization.... I'd say fire DeMeco & Caserio, but as long as a McNair owns this team, nothing will change!
Don’t forget about WR. Caserio literally replaced Tunsil, Diggs and Tank with 3 rookies and Christian Kirk.
And when will we get a OC that will stop trying to use TEs in short yardage situations - put in extra OL …Jesus .. all our TEs get blowed up trying to block
Answer me this. Woody Marks catches a screen for 25 like it was nothing and we chose not to do anything remotely similar? Not one sweep, one corner slant. Dude what did I watch?
Either Caserio, his scouts, or both are awful at selecting OL players in the draft and in free agency.
