Imagine drafting Simmons and Ersery in the same draft. Think the OL might look a little differently?

I sincerely cant believe so many of yall were brainwashed to think our OL was fine suddenly bcz we hired a new coach with a new scheme. Kept saying all off season we didn't have enough talent

OL was the #1 need during the off-season and we did nothing

who wouldve known trading away your all pro tackle + signing one of the worst tackles during the offseason wouldnt suddenly make this OL better? Yall bought into that "its the culture" bullshit with tunsil when the reality is we have subpar talent. The only above average lineman we have is Howard

Nick brainwashed himself. Not surehow any professional would think pulling 2 shitty guards off the scrap heap was going to make the OL better.

In all fairness Minn and Chi paid a small fortune for their revamped OL and it’s done nothing to unswiiss cheese them.

Reminder: Dalman is the 4th highest IOL and Texans passed on him over 3mill in salary difference.

What I want to know is who thought it was a good idea to spend 11 mil on Rankins and not cut Autry which would've saved 7 mil or so? I seriously doubt Caserio made these decisions. That 18 mil could have gotten the Texans Dahlman and Zietler. Then imagine that they drafted Simmons at 1-25 and traded up for Ersery like they did. Draft Noel at 3-79. This isn't hindsight either, there were many Texans fans/draftniks that prioritized fixing the ol at all costs.

    1-25 Simmons
    2-58 Ersery
    3-79 Noel
    3-... CB Smith
3-.... after trading up Marks, This was the trade made trading the extra 4th and a 2026 3rd.
4-.... Thornton or Horton I liked Horton
    5. Croskey Merritt.

FA, using the Rankins, Autry, Tomlinson money, Dahlman, Zietler

    Offense
    QB- Stroud
    RB- Chubb, Marks, Croskey Merritt
WR's- Collins, Kirk, Noel, Hutch, Horton, Watson
    OT's Simmons/Ersery, Fisher
    OG's Howard/Zietler/Ingram
    C Dahlman/Andrews/Patterson
    TE's Schultz, Bryant

The defense really wouldn't have been compromised much either

Edge- Hunter, WA, Barnett, Taylor, Horton
DT's Edwards, Futakasi, Settle, Hinish, Togiai
LB's Same as they are now
CB's same as they are now
S Same as they are now.

This could've been done within budget and many fans wanted to see a draft like this one. But nope, they were unwilling to roll the dice on Simmons and chose to strengthen the DL (Autry/Rankins) over the IOL (Dahlman/Zietler) Who made these calls and I'll even give them a break on the Simmons pick.
