I'm glad to hear that. I still thought 3 was really good. Chris Rock is way overdue for something decent. He should shine in a quasi-serious role.
I didn't watch the movie until after I had watched seasons 1 & 3 of the TV show. To me, the movie was an abbreviated version of the first season. There was nothing wrong with it, but they were able to develop the characters much more thoroughly on the show... and I was much more invested in the outcome because of it. Had I watched the movie first I might have felt differently.
Yeah that makes sense. I saw the movie 1st and it was a revelation, I had never seen anything like it. The tone being both funny and suspenseful was right in my wheelhouse. Marge is still one of my favorite characters ever.
Recently rewatched all of them. I liked S4 better than I did before. I would say: S1 S2 S5 S4 S3 I like them all though.
Started it this morning. I've got a business trip to Reno on Monday, 6 hours of travel each ways. Going to keep this going.
I thought S3 was *much* better the 2nd time I watched it a couple of years ago. Need to do the same with S4 since it's the weakest one, to me.
This was the show/season that convinced me Kirsten Dunst is actually an incredible actress when she has something to work with. I think I saw Melancholia before this season, but I wasn't sure if it was a fluke or not. But she is the best part of an incredible cast all around.
Gotta mention this: I was ticked off when they announced there would be a season 2. I thought season 1 was so great, they should have shut it down and let S1 stand by itself. Absolutely fantastic TV with Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman as the dynamic duo. When I heard the cast for season 2 included Kirsten Dunst I got even more annoyed. But then season 2 leveled up from season 1. Didn't think it was possible. Very glad to be wrong.
