Also, the kid who shot two at a Colorado school was a white supremacist and antisemite.

I, for one, am not shocked at either revelation.

There's a reason why Trump and the right moved so fast to create the narrative they wanted/needed. Even they are smart enough to know that in these cases the profile is almost always the same-

-Young
-Male
-Isolated
-Way too online
-Too easily able to access firearms
-Angry
-Opportunistic
-Conflicted

There's no rhyme or reason typically, and it always almost never makes entire sense. Kirk was the victim in this case, but this profile could have easily have also shot up a school as well. Unfortunately the only thing really surprising here is that there was only one victim because he did not utilize an AR to be able to do even more damage, and have a higher body count.

No. Trump is the cleric that united their cause. When he is no longer physically able to communicate or passes away, then at that point I would anticipate a civil war... unless Trump can fast track Don Jr. or Eric into a position to inherit the clerical position. MAGA is very much a religion at this point, and they are all going to align with the messianic clerical figurehead because that's what the mass followers identify with.

In this case it really doesn't matter what they find about this shooter that contradicts the narrative. As long as Trump is able to just flat out lie about it, they all from top to bottom will fall in line, and live the lie.

 

C'mon, we've had "Civil War" and "WW3" going on for quite awhile now...all part of...another war.

 

Here's the problem. If a law enforcement agent had led the investigation, and been reporting this out in an orderly way in a press conference, we would have no reason at all to not believe this about the engravings.

When Kash, Trump, and the MAGA governor took complete control of this case, it undermines everything, and undermines the trust we have in the case. I assume they will release photos of the casings but until then, not one person should take the word of a MAGA politician this close to the case personally.

One of the bullets had the arrow combination Up, Right, Down, Down, Down from the video game Helldivers 2 to call in an Eagle 500kg Bomb.

You really don't know anything about guns, do you. Many government assassins used 22 subsonic guns (low power) because there is almost no noise and recoil. A 22 bullet which is the same size as a the bullet coming from an "assault rifle" has plenty of energy to kill someone at short range. Crocodile hunters use them to kill them after they are caught. If they can kill a croc, it can kill a human.

 

Actually, that upset me. Not specific to political violence or whatever, but if one of my kids did something horrific and was potentially facing the death penalty, I would not be telling him to "do the right thing." I'd be looking for how I can get him out of the country to a place law enforcement could never reach him. I'm all about doing things the right way, in general. But I'm done with the social contract when my kids are on the short end of it. I can't fathom this father telling his son he needs to turn himself in when he knows he has the governor and the president himself openly (and inappropriately, btw) advocating for the application of the death penalty. What do you think? It's going to teach your son an important life lesson about behaving ethically? He's going to spend the next couple decades in the bottom of a hole and then they'll kill him.
