Lot different than then Ersery's stats. Ersery's pass-blocking stats for the game were: Total pressures allowed: 5 Sacks allowed: 1 QB hits allowed: 2 Overall PFF Grade: 41.6, the lowest of any Texans offensive lineman for that game.
Same. He comes from a very good family, happy for his father. I feel Texans always miss out on a pick, one before our draft pick.
This offense is far from a finished product, from what I gather from the press conferences and the interviews, they practice well but putting that into game mode is a different story. If everything is perfect, we can make positive plays but if one thing breaks down the offense cannot cope with that, we saw that the entire game, penalties, free runners, not picking up the stunts, CJ running backwards etc I think this a fluid situation, and we will see if the new OC, can coach them up after every game so that by the 3/4 mark we MUCH improved..............TBH they looked like last year's team with mild improvement. All we can ask for is improvement every week As a staunch ally for Nick, I can say I am very disappointed that we did not address the O Line, we have made to many mistakes drafting O Lineman and the Cam R signing was too high for the quality of the talent. I do think Ersery will be very good, but man I wanted a Vet Center who can ball out and take control of the line.........
One thing I did notice about the offense: CJ had "pressure" (hot) options. On the play referenced above, under Slowick, if the pressure had hit CJ that quickly, he would've been cooked because he would've been ride/die with Nico. Here, he was able to turn it into a positive gain. I'm cautiously optimistic Caley is going to be a good hire. Less optimistic that they have the talent on the OL to capitalize.
Beat case scenario has always been for this line to be decidedly average. Any issues (poor read, holding in to the ball, etc) just takes them down from there. They don't have a margin for error and being decent. More talent is needed. It would be really helpful if Fisher could be sorted out, I think he's got talent.
