The Ags are screwed. Not one but TWO Sports Illustrated writers picked them to beat the Sooners tomorrow. I think we all know what that means. College Football Marquee Matchup All the pressure is on Oklahoma, which needs to keep winning to stay on track to play for the national championship. Texas A&M already has accomplished a remarkable turnaround and is bowl eligible. The Aggies are playing at home and have nothing to lose. This isn't the same team that lost to the Sooners 77-0 last year. A&M is confident, has a variety of weapons on both sides of the ball and will push Oklahoma to the limit. Sure, the Aggies got caught napping against Baylor last week, but how many times have we seen this before: A team loses a game they had no business losing and then they come back the next week to pull off a huge upset. The same thing could happen here. Oklahoma has skated on thin ice at times this season and Texas A&M just may break it. Texas A&M 28, Oklahoma 27 Stewart Mandel: Weekend Pickoff This week's upset special No. 2 Oklahoma (8-0) at No. 22 Texas A&M (6-2) The last time these teams met in College Station, Aggies QB Reggie McNeal carved up the Sooners DBs like a Thanksgiving turkey -- and that was before McNeal became good and the OU secondary got bad. This time around ... Texas A&M 34, Oklahoma 28
Well the Aggies can't do much worst than UT. Win or lose I think they're capable of putting some points on the board. I can't imagine not even scoring a field goal in 3hr game in their home state. Tis, Tis UT. UH scored 1st and put up 13 on the Sooners in Norman.
well last year they did 65 points worse. it won't be that bad but, as much as i want them to beat ou, it won't be too close. i think they win by at least 14.
Who else has held the Sooners to 12 points though or will this season? I don't think anyone will hold them to 12 again this year.
OU's corners suck, so I'm kinda worried about getting beat deep.... Jason White will have 350+ and 3 TDs...They might hold Peterson to 125 or so.
A&M's secondary is worse. Baylor put up 35 on it, and everyone knew the ball was going to one particular receiver. I expect Stoops to air it out all game long. Jason White with 5 TD passes, then Peterson rolls up the yardage to end the game.
Wow, you weren't kidding. OU's corners were beaten deep twice in the opening A&M drive. McNeal missed one deep TD, but got it in the end .
I don't know why, but I always find myself cheering for A&M in this game. I don't particularly like either team, and an A&M win would actually be bad for my Longhorns. I guess it could be the Lufkin alum at QB, but go Aggies.
Why would an Aggie victory be bad? Just as long Texas takes care of business, they could win the South if Oklahoma were to lose a second time.
you know, I lived in Texas for 17 out of 22 years and I never understood "Boomer Sooners." I just figured that OK people dont understand how to rhyme. Oh, and the Ags are winning.
it wouldnt be bad cause i hate both OU and A&M but wont make a difference because OU wont lose twice i just dont want them to be national champs
see i told you ou by 14+. wow, i knew from watching the oregon game and hearing it from people all week long, but ou's secondary is really is that bad apparently. it doesn't help that mcneal is creating about 5 seconds to throw whenever he wants but that's about 3 pass attempts to guys way ahead of the secondary. this one worked. hopefully this keeps up. i just don't want ou to win the mnc since we have no shot at it. everything else be damned.
Well looks like A&M knows how to pick apart the Cover 2 and burn there corners....really nice display by them.
I just hope the Aggies can keep it up. Looks like OU's offense is starting to get on track so it may be a shoot out.
Oklahoma won't lose a second time, though that Baylor game is looking a little tougher these days... So, the Aggie victory gives Utah, the team currently one spot ahead of Texas in the BCS standings, an impressive victory, making it just that much harder for Texas to jump Utah and make a BCS game. I've gotta hand it to Reggie. He's a player.
