This offense is running out of games to figure it out. Even with Yordan and Meyers back, I don't really see anything different.
Oh I don’t get on Astros twitter but I’m sure it’s full of dumbasses. I don’t care if Correa picks it back up and closes the season out strong. I’ve said it a billion times now but you can’t trade Paredes. This team has a bunch of free swingers and they regularly have terrible ABs, that includes our better hitters Peña and Altuve. We need Paredes’ bat and approach badly in this lineup. You either live with his defense at 2B or ship Walker out and eat some money. I’m not opposed to either.
The Astro stuff catches my eye then I start reading comments then I’m like wtf am I doing? I know better than this!
Well that sucked................I just don't get it, we are Jekyll and Hyde, up and down. Framber seems to have checked out and the rest of the team goes through the motions. I think Joe has lost the clubhouse, unless Hunter is pitching, I have no clue what this team is going to do. What a crappy sports day in HTown..................this is why we can't have nice things!!
So the ashos are in a rut where they are barely winning a game a series now because every opposing pitcher is just too much firepower for this offense. Hate to break it but, if they continue this sh t show, the only place they are going this post-season is their home couches. Something needs to change and get better real fast.
Only thing that can save this offense is a healthy Paredes. Have to hope we can reach the finish line and make the playoffs without him, and then have to hope he is healthy enough to DH or something in October.
I hear you loud and clear and wanna believe, but it feels like we’ve been doing this for awhile now. First we had pitchers who were returning, that was gonna right the ship, next we had bats starting to return and still nothing has gotten us back to any sort of consistent baseball. It feels like a broken clubhouse with flashes of true Astros baseball. Paredes would be awesome to get back but the way everything is playing out it’s hard to think it will make enough of a difference. I truly hope Crane cleans house with the staff, I’d love to know what’s really going on with the team. Sure they’re in a funk/rut but sure feels like something bigger - things haven’t felt right for quite awhile now. In my opinion, this vibe started at the end of the 2023 season.
When you break it down, Astros were still winning games in CLUMPS without Yordan, Meyers, and for short time Pena, and 3/5 of their rotation hitting the shelf by mid-May. Astros were 57-42 on July 20 when Paredes left the game against Seattle. That was with all of the aforementioned unprecedented wave of injuries. Since then, 18-24, most losses have been from poor hitting vs. poor pitching (thank God for Jason Alexander). I felt Paredes was the one injury they couldn't overcome on the hitting side. You combine that with Framber going full mental, and the Hader loss, now all phases of the team are suffering.
Yeah. I'm not sure what's happening with this team, but they're not exactly overachieving anymore. Something feels off with them as a group. They always seem to put it together when it matters, but something about this team just feels different. The Framber thing didn't help. I hope I'm wrong and they get it going, but this team right now just doesn't seem to have it.
