And these women want to get paid as much as the NBA players. PA-Lease!! They aren't even in the same universe! I'm willing to bet you could put Aaron Holiday 1 on 5 vs their most talented players and he's going to score more than they do and thats not me exaggerating. Without funding from the NBA the women wouldnt even have a league. There would be no money at all but here they are demanding equal pay. Just goes to show how entitled they feel when they clearly don't deserve to even have a job playing "professionally".
They did a similar thing with football/soccer with international women's teams getting destroyed by youth sides. it's never a competition as soon as puberty kicks in. I played organised sports growing up, and before the age of around 12 boys and girls played basketball together, and actually for like a year (because they often hit puberty quicker and grow faster) the girls were competitive and sometimes taller and definitely heavier/stronger than some of the pre-teen lads. Then puberty hit, and once that switch flipped the gap was so wide they may as well have not bothered hitting the court. And I played with girls who played for our national youth teams (we suck, but still, relative to the other kids they had game) and they just couldn't hang with the even pedestrian level of explosiveness some of the guys had. For those of us who also developed fast and were man-sized age 13-14 we may as well have been playing against little kids with how easy it was.
i played 1on1 with a girl in my middle school team a couple years back. she was taller and cute. she demolished me. i think she hit puberty before i did
coach said i was a good shooter and kept asking me to try out. i could prolly make the jv team easily. dunno bout varsity. but cute sis was posting me up (she smelled like bubble gum) like joel embiden and making all her hooks and turnaround fades.
Someone had the horrible idea of scheduling a game between Lithuania's national women's team and Lithuania's U16 boys team and make it nationally televised. Yep, you guessed it. The boys won by 50 points without trying too hard.
I often feel bad for the women players involved, but then, they must be deluding themselves into thinking they have a chance or why else would these kind of games keep getting played when the outcome is always exactly the same?
