Like I say, I can't see any evidence of that. Just seems more like you're clutching at straws to justify not liking the guy for whatever reason tbh.
No clutching at straws. Empty elite numbers in a weak conference and overrated defense. A game that is based on athleticism that will rapidly decline. I don’t want him. I would much rather see our young homegrown talent out. If they fail, they fail. But it will much sweeter if they get us to the promise land as opposed to purchasing a 2 year window
I do not think Giannis is overrated. He is an amazing player. The biggest problem with such a trade is it significantly shortens the window. Alpi is still getting better every year. At this point we still do not know what his ceiling will be when he reaches his prime in a few year. We can compete with Alpi and Amen for at least the next decade, maybe 12-13 years. With Giannis, since his game is 100% based off his athleticism, the window shortens to 3-4 years. Plus it would take all of our draft capital to get him limiting our ability to put the team of shooters that he needs around him to win. I am happy with this team as it is and do not want to see them throw away a huge window for a much shorter one. Alpi and Amen both still have 2-3 years before they reach their prime and they both have very high ceilings. Let them grow into what they will become in Rocket uniforms and we will compete to win it all for the next decade+.
Guys that are the best player on a team that won a championship do not put up empty stats. Maybe he's too old and will fall apart (I doubt it will be 2 years), but as of last season he's still mostly the same guy that won a championship (i.e., his stats aren't empty). His team just has never been great around him and the Lilliard trade was basically the nail in the coffin (if that team wasn't already dead).
Only because Giannis was putting up full stats. Amen, Durant, and Sengun right now are all likely better than whoever you consider their 2nd best player on that team. That team was lucky.
Also, stacked teams typically finish better than 7th in the regular season ( 3rd in the east), and don't play like an average team when its star is out.
Middleton and Jrue were all stars and it’s very easy to look at their numbers. That’s not including insane depth on that team
This right here. Plus the price tag would not be just Sengun, it might include Amen as well, plus others. Not interested right now.
Has there been something new regarding Giannis that I missed? Why are we even talking about this dude right now?
It's the off-season. No worries, come the beginning of the regular season we will be seeing this thread disappear replaced with threads such as: Sengun is the 2nd coming of Jesus Fire Udoka Version X Amen, peaked?
They were never once all-nba and the Bucks are tied for dead last of all nba champs. They werr token all-stars based on being in the East. Milwaukie got their butts kicked when Giannis was off the floor. Empty stats best players on a team don't win NBA championships on teams so stacked that not one of their other players was ever all-NBA and so stacked they got their butt kicked with the empty stats best player off the floor. Stacked teams win the minutes with their star off the court. The only NBA team less stacked to win a finals in recent history is the Nuggets. The Bucks are the 2nd least stacked NBA champs team in the last decade at least. If Giannis is an empty stats player, every player in the NBA with the exceptions of Jokic and SGA are.
I wonder if teams with the so called 'less stacked' role players or youngest team of the decade.......win it all now due to Super teams not able to keep their teams due to the 2nd Apron.....
That championship team was stacked. You just have to look at the numbers. And, he has done absolutely nothing since. In a very easy conference
If we have an elite go-to scorer (KD) and two players (Amen, Alpi) who you both consider to be better than the second best player on what was a championship team, then why the hell are we even discussing a trade of any one of these players?
Theoretically Alpe and Türkiye could meet Greece and Giannis in the Semis.....provided they both win out.
This is exactly what's going to happen, because Gianni's superstar status is predicated on him being a better athlete than other people. He's got great technique as well, but technique in the NBA is teachable even to non-athletic players, so it's not what defines him. As I said in a previous post, without his super-athleticism, Giannis is not a superstar. Also, Sengun is outplaying Giannis and the other Euro superstars in Eurobasket right now. Also, the Bucks have won 4 playoff games in the past 3 years with teams built exclusively to cater to Giannis. In the East.
