There's no reason for Lance to be pitching in the majors. Let him rehab until next year and see if there's anything left then, but right now he's simply not viable. They're doing a disservice to everyone in the organization by putting him out there.
If he doesn’t have a strong ST he will be. I guess the Astros could work out a deal with him now. I just think you take one last chance that he puts it together in his final year. If he struggles hard out of the gate, cut your losses.
I don't give AF about LMJ sucking today. We lost this game with all those pathetic zeros in extras. There's still season left for something to happen, but unless there is a big kick from the offense we need new voices in the room on the hitting side. Even with all if the injuries the overall approach has been absolutely pathetic all season. And I am not a reactionary fan who complains based on day-to-day results, I haven't mentioned the hitting coaches all season, but this BS has been constant.
I realize hitting coaches have THAT much of an impact but good lord, how long does Alex Cintron just get to hang out and collect free checks. It's unbelievable.
The total inability to even manufacture ONE ****ING RUN when you're given a leadoff double every damn inning
This was the best performance by an Astros reliever all year long. I was really hoping we'd celebrate the performance with a win. Sigh..
Astros lead all of baseball in poor fundamentals. Just Google poor fundamentals and you'll see a picture of Joe espada, not kidding.
Just find a way to win one of the next two and we've temporarily kept Texas at bay. Until we play them at home which I am definitely afraid of. That has sweep written all over it.
In related news, I do not believe Seattle is making the playoffs. What's going on there is much more ridiculous than what's going on with us, they have absolutely no excuses. But as some of you tried to convince me they are the Seattle Mariners in the end.
Lance very obviously shouldn't be in the majors. Still even today, Lance was like the 10th option. And lack of bats put him in position to fail. Pena & Sanchez with some bad "green light"' swings. Urias the sac fly leader popping up on 1 pitch. Altuve lacking clutchness the past month. The pitching performed decent relative to expectations. The hitters only do that like 1 out of 9 games.
I don't think King is going to "Montero it" as predicted. Over his whole career, he's been a much better pitcher over Montero's 1 fluke year
