Also - Again as I mentioned, if you live in Texas and are a home owner especially you are NOT saving money unless you are a millionaire with the property tax caps for rich people. Even then if you are saving money in property tax, if you have home owners insurance, your insurance has increased quite significantly.

Those are essentially household operating costs or a FIXED cost. Not optional costs (IE it's your choice to buy chuck roast instead of Ribeyes, or Rice instead of Caviar).

Seriously.... If you feel like costs are lower now than they were a year ago then the only rationale is that either you live with your parents, or you are brainwashed beyond belief (and your wife or someone else pays the bills).
