Today (I guess yesterday now) would have been my Dad’s 89th birthday. :)

I'm not trying to ruin the MadMax theme, but I thought this was interesting. Apparently the music was played live every episode by Johnny Costa, who was a top tier Jazz pianist with serious chops. From his Wikipedia, Art Tatum called Johnny Costa "the white Art Tatum". Like he was a serious talent, and he took little money (college tuition for Costa's son) so he could stay at home and play for Mr Rogers when he could have been a super famous Jazz pianist touring the world if he had put his mind to it. But he was happy trying to introduce sophisticated music to kids for the Mr. Rogers show.

Just shows how special Mr. Rogers was and how everybody around him knew it, that this world class pianist wanted to forgo a bunch of oportunities for "greatness" to play for Mr. Roger's Neighborhood.

I love this! That doesn’t spoil the theme AT ALL! To the contrary….
