The Drinker is spot on most of the time, however nearly every movie and series can be ripped apart if one truly wishes. I like Alien:Earth.... Its not particularly great, but I enjoy it. I'm just glad looking more into such an interesting universe. I'd have preferred the children once transfered and gaining super brains would have a better understanding of life and stop acting like children. Perhaps act more like beings super interested in everything and gaining as much knowledge as possible. Other than the goofy adults I don't mind the plot armor or how stupid the xenomorph is. It's fun, I like it. I can't wait for episode 4...
I don't mind the childishness. I actually prefer it. If they became super brains and "adult-ish" What would make them any different from the Synthetics? I like that their have HUMAN emotions and irrational fears (Chances are the eyeball could not have done much to ole girl . . but it was still creepy as heck) I think they did point out several logical inconsistencies but I can live with them (dead bodies should freak some kids out) Rocket River
Thing is they are using them to their convenience without consistency, sometimes they act like children and sometimes they act like adults/cyborgs. None of them have shown true fear except the curly head girl. All the kids act weird towards things that drove the original crew of The Nostromo mad in fear. Not to mention the one girl trying to be the genius dude's favorite. It almost seemed like she came off flirty and not innocent just wanting to be the favorite. They are either advanced human children quickly growing up as the days go by or they are children forever stuck in mechanical bodies period. Will they ever even grow up? If they were going to go for the children thing they should have at least dedicated an episode to the actual children so we get to know how they are before going into the synthetics bodies, maybe then we would more easily be able to accept why each character is the way they are...
Agreed We know nothing about their backgrounds Initially I was wondering if they were exceptional kids but in time i got that they were just terminal kids Rocket River
Did anyone else find their interest in the show increase a lot after watching episode 4? Obviously the ending had a lot to do with it, but it wasn't the only reason.
I won't say alot Honestly the Goat Scene was more interesting to me I want to see more on that. Rocket River
It was a very low action episode, presumably for expositional purposes. I'm guessing they thought the goat would fill the action itch for a full episode, but it didn't quite. When the eyeball-goat stood on two legs... that was kind ot freaky. Eyeball monster is my favorite part of the show so far.
I agree. It leaves me with intriguing questions. Spoiler 1. Did the ship go to the Xenomorph's origin world? 2. Are the other specimins native to that world and evolved to coexist with them Eyeball - there is no way they can be inplanted with xenomorph eggs Xenomorph - don't appear to have eyes to be infiltrated by the eyeball monster Now both are showing a level of intelligence/consciousness They both seem like they would prey on the same animals literally a creature could have been infected by both at the same time. we still waiting to see what the other Specimens look like and can do I lot of fertile ground to mine Rocket River
I really like the actress playing Wendy, Sydney Chandler. She does well with micro expressions. I might have to watch Pistols to see her play Chrissie Hynde. Discovered her dad was the coach in Friday Night Lights, too.
I'm liking it so far...Just finished episode 3. Feels like the initial hype was a bit overstated and don't understand the Andor references. Alternating between Alien Earth and Foundation season 3... pretty good time.
the stupidity of the crew in today’s episode was almost beyond words it’s like Weylend-Yutani found all these people off Craigslist
Episode 5 was really good. Good action and horror. It's unbelievable how incompetent the crew was. There are no safety measures when dealing with these dangerous species. Makes you wonder how they captured them in the first place, and how many crew did they sacrifice to do that? Science officer is stupid. Doctor is stupid. The apprentice is mentally disabled yet he's responsible for fixing a ship? XO can't lead worth crap and was frozen from any decision. Teng and Morrow were the only smart crew.
