[NY Post] Jeremy Lin officially retires after 15 years in pro basketball

Darryl Morey will forever live in infamy as the architect of, arguably, the stupidiest FA signing in NBA history.

undrafted rookie Lin had a great 3-week run for the NYK before a seson-ending injury.
the 23-yr old FA Lin was all set to re-sign with the Knicks.

Rox had a 24-yr point guard Goran Dragic for the previous 2 seasons, w a ppg in the mid teens;
he became a FA in the off season.
Dragic wanted to re-sign w the Rox, and a 4-yr contract; Rox offered 3-yr

then Morey, in his infinite stupidity,

• kicked Dragic to the curb and
• offered Lin the largest (at that time) poison-pilled FA contract ever, such that the NYK didn't even bother to match

Morey futher insulted the intelligence of Rox fans by rationalizing that Lin was in the pantheon of NBA greats,
a la Iverson, CP3, LBJ and the likes

Lin's performance had proven to be of jouneyman-caliber, several years after the stupid signing, Morey
had to bribe the Lakers with a 1st and 2nd round pick to assume the remainder of Lin's poison-pilled contract,

to say the Lin FA signing was an abject failure would be understating it. Darryl Morey was the architect for this stupid signing,

Jeremy always kept it 100, and 100 > 99. That's settled math, and Lin is good at math, because he graduated from Harvard and is very intelligent.
