I just think it’s funny that people think that GMs that have been in the industry for decades and have way more information and data than we will ever have are simply thinking Giannis is a game changer because he won a championship once… like the idea is so silly If you actually watch basketball the dude is an absolute force on both sides. Can lock down anybody 1 on 1, plays tremendous help defense, can typically get his shot off at will and passes better than anyone on our team … I’m not saying it’s 100% no-brainer to trade Alpi for him but it’s definitely not off the table and he does everything alp does and more so if him and draft picks are the main components then we would be significantly better
1 Dimensional run and dunk man isnt worth what the Bucks are going to want for him. Also locks your team down offensively. Also we'd have to get all of our teammates helmets to wear during practice. No thanks.
The East is wide open. You got Cleveland and the Knicks up there. Boston doesn't know how Tatum is going to respond in games after the injury. It's possible the Bucks could make it to the finals. The price would be too high this season for the Rockets unless he asks to be traded to Houston, but it'd probably be in the best interest of Giannis to stay put for now. The Rockets are good but the West is a lot more competitive. You got OKC, the Lakers , Minnesota, Denver, Clippers, Dallas(?), you still have to worry about the Warriors and you can't sleep on the Spurs either if Wemby stays healthy. Let's just hope the Bucks get off to a real rough start and he asks out with the Rockets as his preferred designation. Let's also hope Stone would somehow be able trade him him without including Sengun, cause the man just turned 23 years old. There aren't many who can stop him, including Giannis, and he's only getting better.
Trading for Giannis is a bad idea he doesnt fit this team and the Rox wont have anyone good left if he arrives. Our 2 best players are Sengun and Amen, Giannis is a bad fit with the 2 of them, you cant have your 3 best players all need shooters around them lol. OKC and Denver are the two threats to Rox, not sure how Giannis would help that its not like Bucks will accept a trash offer for him.
I really don't think they fit together very well anyway - You can't ask KD to defend young SF / wings, he'll mostly defend the 4 spot and Giannis plays the same spot. Neither of them have the lateral quickness to defend 1-2-3. If Stone is adding a star, it should be a Guard .... Amen, Sengun, KD & Jabari / Tari have the 3-4-5 spots locked up.
What's even funnier is that after all that, way more often than not it leads to nothing. Yeah let's gut the team for that.
Amen has a guard spot locked up. The Rockets weakness may be the 3 as Tari and JSJ are more 4s like Durant. Though, if the Rockets could get Giannis, I think the Rockets would just cover for Durant like they did Green last season.
Gutting the team and draft picks for Giannis would be really stupid. We are positioned to compete for Championships through 2030. Sengun all-star 23. Amen all-nba 22. Jabari 22 year old superb role player. 2 great draft picks in 27. Durant and FVV off the books by 27 championship calibre vets. Tari 24, Reed 21.
I just don't think you can have a team with both Amen and Giannis on it. It sounds like Sengun would be the main piece to go out in a Giannis trade, but honestly Sengun is the reason currently why he works so well with other non-shooters like Adams and Amen. It's his creativity in the high post that makes him a more malleable piece in spite of his lack of outside shooting. And it sounds like he's still working on his outside shot, like that's not a foregone conclusion to be missing. If you look at the career trajectories of Jokic, Sabonis, Brook Lopez etc, Sengun totally has it in him to be an outside threat and make this current roster work more seamlessly than it would with Giannis + Amen, or Giannis + Adams. I think we're seeing with these Eurobasket games, you don't sell low on Sengun. He's still on the up and up. Giannis might be an all time great, but he can't win a championship without a team built around him, and with his age and skillset it's much more of a risk that his back half of his career resembles Russell Westbrook's more than it does Hakeem Olajuwon's.
Oh yes they would. They would ask for the world. It would be the same thing if Durant was his age. It would taken way more than Green/10th pick / & 2nds.
No to Giannis. It'll cost a King's ransom and shorten our prospective window. Dude will fall off a cliff in a few years.
Yes it would. Bucks wouldnt let Giannis go for Jsean Tate and Jeff Green lol get real. The contract of Giannis alone means lots of the team will be gone just to make his salary.
Smart GM's also know they would have to gut the team and trade all of our draft capital to get someone like Giannis. They also know they would be trading away a 12-13 year window(until Alpi and Amen get to 35) for a 4 year window until Giannis hits 35. They would have to completely retool the team with shooters to make it work for Giannis. Could they do that in 4 years with few draft picks? A smart GM would keep the two budding superstars vs the older one due to the larger window with the young guys.
