You could say the same thing about any WCO also.

Very predictable, what bothered me about last year and I dont know where the blame belongs, the Texans talent to run a gap scheme offense but insisted on running a ZBS until towards the end of the season.

I may be embarrassed by the fact that your answer will be the obvious, but what is a WCO?

Seems like all those statements are a shot at Slowik, LOL

    100%.

Also, if the QB wasn't able to adjust the protections at the line last season, I take back nearly all of my criticisms of Stroud and throw a thousand times that much at Slowlik. That's just inexcusable. He should never work in the NFL again if that's true.

I'm curious how many of the 32 NFL OCs are in the booth vs. the field. I thought all of them were in the booth.

Latest info I could find was from 2023: 16 of the 20 who called plays were on the sideline.

    https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...oordinator-matt-canada-sideline-calling-plays

Now that you've got tablets with all manner of video and photos on them I'm not sure having the higher vantage point matters much wrt seeing defensive formations, schemes, plays, etc....Guess it just comes down to personal preference, but I'd rather him be on the sideline so he can interact with the players more readily. But those are just thoughts off the top of my head that I've never thought about before.

"Nothing against Bobby...but we just relied on zone. Caley puts us in duo, gap, traps while still giving us a hb toss in there." Pierce postgame

did anyone other than Demeco and Bobby know what kind of offense they were running. Nick didn't seem to care. He was just like we can do this with the line Teapot built. I'll just draft and sign more linemen with little zone experience.
    Difficult scheme.

Happy that they're all enjoying the change back.

Now that we're getting down to the end of camp, how many starters have come out and said, basically, that the offensive system absolutely sucked last year and this one is night-and-day different?

Stroud. Pierce. Schultz. About 4 OL.

Haven't heard from the WR room much, which is always a good thing.

I just hope we're on the right track for a fix. I'm glad there are multiple components in the changes so that we are flexible if some don't work.

I was just watching Seth Paynes clip discussing whether Nick would be on the sideline or the booth (about the 11 minute mark.) The answer and commentary immediately reminded me of my humorous response about listening in 33 1/3 to someone talking in 78. But the factual basis of this humor is the reality that seeing the lips move is almost a requirement for relaxed listeners to understand fast talkers.

ps I accidentally got a clip to show. I could never have figured out how to do it intentionally.

Wow that's a lot of shade at Slowik from players. Hopefully this means Pierce becomes a valuable piece again. The zone scheme wasn't for him. I also think Mixon is getting old in RB years so we need better insurance.

True but the proof that this OL has improved is in the pudding.

And it's very noticeable even to a fan like me who knows squat about how this works...............just makes me go dam, last year was wasted but it is what it is and I am glad we made the change, I still wish we had at least one big name but then I look at Chicago and see it's not always the flashy FA that gets it done.

True, but Chicago's OL is going to be much improved because they spent lower level draft capital on IOL Thuney/Williams and FA on Dahlman. That costs money.

The Texans looks like they got lucky with Ersery but went cheap on IOL Tomlinson/Andrews/Ingram. Fortunately it looks like they found long term answers in Ersery/Andrews. Just gotta find a couple of more young OL in the draft next yr and the OL will be set for the next 5 yrs.
