I wasn't into them in the 90's but I've learned to like them now. I really have a thing for catchy melodies and distorted power chords - the reason I loved Weezer so much back in the day. Greenday is like Weezer's first album sped up. And unlike Weezer, they haven't really changed their formula much since they started out.
For whatever reason a guy naming himself "Tré Cool" turned me off. I was also more into a different style of punk rock, not saying they're bad or anything but it just wasn't my thing
Going through Goo Goo Dolls albums, Superstar Car Wash, A Boy Named Goo, and Dizzy Up the Girl - the “non” hit songs on those albums are fantastic.
