Newsome is great for the Democrats. Either he wins or whomever beats him will be toughened up by going against him. The guy is sharp and is a great debater. Like Hillary toughened Obama on the campaign trail.
Newsom will have to overcome that BS anti California narrative that republicans have successfully created. The attack ads will be easy. "Don't California Our America" Meanwhile, many liberals don't like him because he's not working class enough and comes off as being part of the "elites"
Until we see the candidates emerge over the next year, Newson is not the person I want but may be the person we need right now
Or maybe the 6-3 conservative court was just anti-Biden and is now in the tank for Trump. They allowed nationwide injunctions against Biden policies for four years by conservative district courts in Amarillo, etc. Otherwise, student loan relief would have go through. But they promptly struck down the practice just six months into the Trump presidency. See Trump v. CASA, where the Court lifted the injunction on the clearly unconstitutional executive order against birthright citizenship. I guess that's one possible explanation. Another way to go about it would be to read each decision in each case and examine the reasoning behind the decisions.
The real question in my mind is .. Can there be a bold democratic electorate that is willing to overlook a 10% disagreement of a candidate that 90% aligns with them (or may be 20-80). looking at the way republicans rally behind Trump and ‘not so’ republicans jump in the line of fire to justify his actions and draw false equivalencies, I believe that is more apt question!!

Who knows. My pick would be Jamie Raskin. Love that guy. Pete Buttigeg is a guy I would vote for, but I think the homophobes would never consider him any more than the bigots would a women, or the racists and bigots would vote for a black woman. I want a moderate, not far left candidate. Im just wondering if we will ever get another bold and moderate Republican who actually has the balls to stand up for Democracy, and can challenge the MAGA pukes with no balls or courage to do anything more than kiss the butt of the orange creep. I'd consider a moderate with ethics, integrity, and a good head on their shoulders, but would completely rule out any MAGA die-hard loyalists or far right folks serving right now. I just want someone who will work on bipartisan policies, and not be an asswipe, who doesn't listen to logic, reason, or the concerns of the people. I don't want some grifting liar in office again who is embedded in conflicts of interest, and associates with white collar criminals.
I’ve seen Talarico a couple of times on TV. He comes off a little meek to me. Just not a dynamic personality. I’ll keep watching and hope to learn more about him.

Getting a good laugh reading about these potential Dem candidates! Their primary will be a bloodbath. The progressive wing wants a Mamdami and the more moderate group wants a Mark Kelly/Andy Beshear. The economic minded libs want Josh Shapiro. All have problems with other parts of their coalition. Expect a goat rodeo. GOOD DAY
