Perhaps. And yet Garcia has looked better than all of them in his rehab starts. He was also better than all of them when healthy. New arm slot and had a rougher rehab due to surgical complications delayed his return. He will be middle relief or few inning starter at most, but at least has bigger game experience, stuff, and has survived the leagues adjustments. (Meanwhile Blubaugh is not doing great back in the minors… and the league has/will dissect guys like France, Gordon, Alexander, let alone in any sort of playoff or leverage situation).
In his 2 starts since being sent down after his great appearance for the Astros, Blubaugh has thrown 10ip, 1er, 11k in AAA.
Detroit is presently soooo much better than the Astros. Houston just doesn't have the players to match up. It is not bad luck; it is the lack of talent.
That is awesome…. But just afraid that when he becomes a threat to any team, and they dissect his stuff, he will regress. Just like Brown did early on (and he’s not quite at that level to begin with). But hey, with those K numbers and going max effort, maybe he can fill a bullpen role this season (which is slightly harder for teams to gameplan against, especially if he has more than 2 pitches).
Yeah. When I post the "oh no we suck again" gif...I had to think about the last time I post it in this forum. Must have been around 10 years ago, 2015 season maybe.
So is McCullers gonna still try to throw all 7 of his pitches, of which he has no control of any of them. Have the pitching coaches come to their senses to make him focus on only 3 of his pitches? Fastball, curve, changeup, that's it. If I got to see another wild slider 2 feet off the plate again......
His main pitch was the Slider. His knucklecurveball was removed for no reason. Against the Yankees he threw nothing but Knucklecurveballs. Lance McCullers really should consider being a Knucklecurveball Pitcher.
As long as Lance (who I pull for) has no command, it doesn't really matter what type of pitch he throws.
I just wonder if Craig C is trying to cover up the slump with an "injury"..........this is ridiculous
It’s been a 2 month prolonged lull. The Astros had similar concerns when Yordan started the season off with a 1-2 month lull.
Now it makes sense with Tucker. Maybe that’s what’s wrong with Walker, Sanchez and Cam. Throw in Melton too, How is Trammell? Hope he’s okay.
Apparently the injury happened in June so that does cover the struggle period. I'm sure his agent felt his stock dropping, so they decided to say something now.
