One word: Horrible. They are also lazy and inexperienced...... Nevermind the weird checkout line, the dot matrix Jiffy Lube style reciepts, the inventory not being there when it says in the ad that they will have it, and the crowds...... The prices are good, but I will be hard pressed to go there again......
You'll catch some relief when the Webster store opens up. I called the North Houston store and the operator told me that it would be late December before opening. I find that hard to believe as the building and landscaping appear to be ready for opening. Give me my Frys...give me my cheap mobos!!!
I've been to Fry's twice and will probably never go back. I had people shoving me and running into me while I was looking at the DVDs. Plus, it smells funny in there.
Dude, that checkout line is AWESOME! I wish every other store would use it. I'm in and out in two minutes... but at Best Buy, I'm in line for like 10 minutes. More places need to do the Fry's system ASAP
Agreed. That is the best way to do it. Especially for me because I always seem to pick the slower line.
I'd think all stores would try and open for xmas rush.. Opening in late december or early january... misses out on a lot of xmas money
All the Best Buys that I've been in lately when there were crowds had basically the same system as Fry's. Plus, there weren't dozens of idiots shoving customers trying to get that last $4.99 DVD of Diner.
But at least Fry's doesn't try to shove subscriptions to various magazines or their damn "warranty" down your throats! i swear trying to tell them I'm not interested is what makes the lines so slow there! especially when courteous people let them give their whole spiel before just saying "no." I cut them off right away and as soon as I put down my item to get scanned, I tell them "No i don't want any magazines and i don't want the warranty." People should be more like me!
Yeah, it also sucks when the guy has to waste your time by going to pick up the game you want. I bought Madden there and had to wait a lot longer than telling someone I don't want a warranty or magazine subscription before he got back. That place just makes my skin crawl.
Their customer service sucks, but my friends have scammed them many times. They bought an open box DVD burner, brought it back with a DVD-Rom Drive and complained that it wasnt the burner they bought, and they refunded them. They may suck, but you can use it to your advantage...
Maybe if your friend wasn't scamming them and costing them tons of money they could afford to hire better people.
Whenever a salesman offers my dad a warranty, he says, "Are you trying to telling me this product is going to break in X years? Why should I want to buy it if it needs a warranty?" He likes giving people a hard time.
Only because the Californians were the guinea pigs... I recall it taking almost an hour to checkout several times at the CA stores.
I had the same problem too. WITH THE SAME GAME! They advertised it in the paper for $39.99 or something like that, I go to the store, and the dumb ho acts like she is working at McDonalds or something. "I guess we dont have none left." Um ok...... Your crappy store opened an 15 minutes ago!!! How the hell could they already be sold out?? I didnt even see a display. I asked another dude, and he looked dumfounded as well. He said "Let me check". I waited for (Im not exaggerating) 15 minutes for the guy to come back (maybe he had to take a dump or something - I dont know). He says: "Im still looking for it." Are you f'ing kidding me?? I wait again....... Finally he comes back and says: "Here ya go." No sorry about the wait, no explanation on why he had to walk a few laps around the store to look for a game that was advertised that day, nothing. Definitely not worth the wait in line, or the $10 savings. I'll buy **** on Ebay all day before I ever step foot in a Fry's again. Kind of reminds me of the customer service at Venture or Service Merchandise. That my friends is the definition of TERRIBLE customer service.
