If we are not on the same level as the chiefs, bills, or ravens, we are not a contender. We are pretenders. Contenders make it to at least the afc title game. Pretenders do not.

You get there one game at a time. If we are in a playoff game with the Bills, the Ravens, or the Chiefs, I think we will have a better chance than last year when we were offensively challenged. Not only was the OL below par, but I think our offensive schemes were too predictable.

It comes down to staying healthy, and having a good enough OLine.

I wouldn’t say they are STRONG contenders. But, they are in the mix as contenders if all the pieces fall into place.

I am excited for the season to start.

I'm gonna say no only because it's been 47 years since a team from Houston has made it past the Divisional Round. Part of me thinks it's just never going to happen.

And like others have said, we gotta prove we can beat the Ravens/Chiefs on the road at some point. 0-6 all time road playoff record.

For me it all comes down to injuries.
Our D is as good as any in the league on paper.
Just by virtue of that, we should have our O on the field quite a bit. This will tire other defenses out and give us an advantage in a lot of games.

Don't think any team will blow us out this year with our D, so we at a minimum should be in just about every game we play.

I also think KC takes a step back this year, I can never tell with Baltimore.

I think for a team like ours, who have a Championship caliber D and an unproven but improved offense. Injuries will be KEY, but we also need some luck, a few last-minute wins, penalties go our way, CJ takes 2 steps forward, the O Line plays lights out, can we get 2 home games for the playoffs and play someone not named Baltimore. The SB winner tends to get a few lucky breaks along the way so its possible, but this league is hard and until we can beat KC, Baltimore and Buffalo convincingly we will be a second tier club

I will say this, this could be the best team the Texans have fielded since I have been a fan.....................I have high expectations as I do every year, but not drinking the Kool Aid as I normally do
