Well you got your wish now 5-2 in the 9th, with Mariners on 1st and 2nd with no one out, and the Os with a pitcher with a 4.70 ERA on the mound. I would have taken the L for the Mariners...on a rain out....heheh. Edit - 1 out now still guys on 1 and 2. Edit two - Walked the bases loaded......wtf Baltimore, don't you have a closer? Top of lineup up now. Edit three - scored a run on a FC, but then got the 3rd out Baltimore wins 5-3. Astros up 1.5 games on the Mariners - two in the loss column. DD
Well the Astros completely fumbled the easy part of its schedule... the win percentage against the As, Rockies, Nationals, Guardians was inexcusable.
(almost every thread is discussing the Mariners... thus this is going in all of them. Again, not a jinx!)
No, he's a AAAA guy who will be in Sugar Land's rotation until a 40 man spot is needed and he's DFA'd
What do you think of Gordon, France and Gordon are basically the same pitchers except one throws left and the other throws right. Both have value as 6 inning 3-4 run inning eating SP's as 6th or 7th SP's on a team as good depth options. There's value in that.
France is a great 7th or 8th starting pitcher. Which means he has good value as long as he has options remaining.
One time through the order long relief/tandem guy. Astros need to cobble together 9 innings of pitching with as few pitchers as possible in order to avoid overuse of the thin bullpen. Anybody that can go multiple innings effectively needs a shot.
We are getting healthy, will have 3 plus starting pitchers guys that would be 1 or 2 in a starting lineup.... Brown - Ace Framber - Ace Javier - Solid number 2 Arrighetti - Solid number 3 up and coming McCullers - Number 4 Garcia - Solid number 3 Walter - Number 4 Alexander - Long relief/Emergency starter France - Emergency starter So That is solid..... Then we get back the Made of Glass man Alvarez, and Meyers should be next week, and we are ready to make a run. DD
Health, velo, and control will dictate the rest of this season for Lance… as well as the rest of his career. I didn’t really buy the blister thing. Hopefully they got in the lab and tried to figure some things out.
2026 starting pitching depth: Brown Javier Arrighetti Walter Alexander Garcia McCullers Blubaugh Gordon France Ullola (AAA) Pecko (AAA) Fleury (AAA) Dombroski (AAA) Mayer (AA) Hicks (AA) Nezuh (AA) Tredwell (AA) Blanco (IL) Wesneski (IL)
My first reaction is that the greatest value of 11 through 14 would be to trade them for young prospects in the upcoming off season. Then I remember the injuries we had over the last year and I think we gotta find some more pitchers.
